Step 2 is up to us (grandparents). The little tikes are in the care of their parents. For small children, I prefer the second slide. Not quite as tall, but it can be folded for storage, has a deeper channel for safety, and is simply more durable. When used outside on uneven ground, it appears to be less likely to tip. Both of our grandkids, who are now two years old, enjoy them. They've been sliding almost as long as they've been walking on ours; I'm not sure when they'll outgrow these small slides, but I figure they'll eventually turn into pool slides.
I was having a similar problem. I turned it upside down, then sideways, and eventually just held it in my hand while pushing the bracket with my foot. Because I was afraid of breaking the bracket, I pushed with my foot as a last resort, but it held. When my grandson no longer wants to play on it, I'm at a loss for what to do.
There was no assembly required when the slide was removed from the carton because the steps were already attached to the slide.
The one I bought has been used both inside and out, and the paint has never chipped or gone bad. The slide is made of blue plastic, while the stairwell is made of tan plastic. It's possible that if it's left outside permanently, it'll fade, but I'm not sure.

Has anyone else had issues with the slide's bottom being uneven? Because of the angle, it appears to jolt my toddler at the bottom. It folds well, feels stable, and looks fantastic! If it wasn't for the bump at the bottom, it would be a lot easier.
It's a nice-looking slide, but it has a lot of flaws in terms of design. To begin with, the slide's stairwell is nearly vertical; my friend's daughter is unable to climb them because they are too difficult for her. The second issue is that the slide is extremely narrow. Third, when my baby attempted to slide, the bump at the bottom jolted him, causing him so much pain that he refused to play again. Fourth, the slide should not be used on hardwood floors or smooth surfaces because it will move. When I wanted my baby to play, I had to grip the slide tightly.
We don't even try to fold it up when it's not in use because it fits in our living room and is light enough to pick up and move aside. It's also convenient because this slide will easily keep a toddler entertained for several years. The slide is a little longer and steeper than some of the others. I had to help my "little" get up the two steps at this point. The top step, in my opinion, is too high. My "little" prefers to take the lowest step and then try to swing her legs over, which she occasionally succeeds at. This slide makes a fantastic matchbox car downhill racetrack! br>br>What I don't like about it: The sides aren't tall enough. When my sweetie reaches the top step, she is forced to climb up and over to the top of the slide, which is not a problem for an older toddler or child because I am right there with her. A better, but larger, slide/climbing toy with an overhead plastic bar/grip and high sides is available. My daughter just got that one for their backyard from Amazon, and "Eva" can safely get up and down on her own (though the slide is a little shorter).
Although I was gone for the entire day, the driver was able to place this item at my front door in such a way that it was hidden from view, which I appreciate. In relation to the slide. I could look past the minor scratches on the slide's surface and the fact that the box appeared to have come from some forgotten corner of the warehouse, but the brace refused to engage. I turned the slide upside down and literally stood on the brace at one point, but nothing I did would lock it. You can still use the slide without it, but if your toddler is anything like mine (turns things upside down, tries to disassemble everything, and carries the largest objects around the house), you don't want this.
I used to have a little tikes slide, but this one is much more durable. The steps are the perfect size for small feet to climb. The slide, according to other reviewers, jolts the child off at the bottom. We noticed this, but it appeared to be due to his feet being sticky at the bottom and jolting him forward; we've kept socks on him to keep him sliding smoothly, which has worked well. I'm keeping it indoors for the time being because it's so easy to tuck away when not in use, but I intend to bring it outside once the weather improves. There's also no need to put it together. All you have to do now is unfold and click it into place, and you're ready to go!.
I couldn't have made a better purchase! We're using it as an indoor slide so that my two-year-old can climb and have some fun indoors! When I'm not using it, I fold it up because my daughter would never stop sliding if I didn't. Sure, it's sturdy, but I keep it on a rug so she can move it around if she wants. We have a small living space, and while it's perfect for her age and size up to age 4, it's not too big and bulky to be bothersome (plus it's SO EASY to open and fold away). We absolutely adore it and would purchase it again in a heartbeat! Prepare to keep this slide in your possession for a long time!.
The slide is extremely tough (I didn't even notice the 43 lb. weight limit, and I went down it myself with no problems). It's difficult to secure the bracket. It took about ten minutes for me to complete the task. It took me a while to figure out that I needed to bend it quite a bit to get it into place. It's also larger than expected, which is a plus (even though the dimensions are accurate). Although the slide narrows as you get closer to the bottom, I (an average-sized adult) was able to fit down it. It's suitable for children up to the age of three, in my opinion.
My 18-month-old son adores this slide, which is just the right size for him. It's high enough for him to get a good distance, but not too high that if he fell off, he'd be hurt. When it's not in use, it can be folded up. This is something I've used both inside and out. I keep it mostly indoors on hardwood floors, so I put a foam mat under it to protect the floor. It's well-made and durable. There was no swaying at all. I haven't noticed any color fading in the short time it's been outside, but I'm not sure if it would keep its color if left outside all the time. It's also very easy to clean. You can hose it down if it's outside or just wipe it down with a damp cloth if it's inside; I think he'll be able to use it for at least another two years. Here's to a happy mama!.
