Just what I wanted/needed. Little number three wasn't going to be as pleased when he received two toilet paper rolls taped together after two of his older brothers got the Kidwinz 8x21 binoculars. The binoculars aren't particularly heavy, but they feel substantial. (Well, maybe he would have been, but then we found these terrific value alternatives. )

The binoculars might not seem heavy, but they feel It is solid and sturdy with no loose parts. A moving part is not present A diopter isn't made up of knobs or anything like that. There is a place for your nose in the foolproof eyecup, so this allows kids to hold these up to their eyes just fine. It is made of soft plastic so it won't poke your birder in the face, and it is actually very comfortable. At that low magnification, shaking is not an issue. While it may sound like a small amount, but at that low magnification level, you can tell that things are closer. As a result of the good field of view, it's possible to aim the binocs at what you're after. Children with glasses have a limited choice of focal points, so their vision may not be as sharp as it should be depending on the level of correction they need and how closely the glasses line up Several colors make the binocs look very sharp and they just sort of have an eye-catching feel and look. Our family was very happy with this find since there are other more expensive plastiky/cheesy binoculars that don't work nearly as well as these, and these are actually super kid friendly.

It does not need to be adjusted. Seeing a clear image is as simple as looking through the binoculars. The hummingbirds at our feeder went easier to see with these this past summer since my son used them. On our nature walks, we also took these with us. They lasted him a full summer and they are still in excellent condition after a whole summer of use. In my book, it gets an A+ if it makes a child curious about nature and the environment.

I am disappointed. A day after they were delivered, they broke. The magnifying glasses don't seem to add a lot of magnification, they are rather useless. In one photo you can see how the plastic part that holds the lens in place breaks. As can be seen from the second photo, there is no longer a lens.

The Educational Insights Geosafari Jr. I bought is a great product. The kids love these kidnoculars for bird watching in the back yard. They are homeschooled and have been using them since they were 8 years old. There has been a lot of use of them! You don't have to focus them and they are very comfortable on their little faces and have a soft molding around the eyepieces for added comfort. The magnification is good (2x) and they don't need to be focused. During the month or so since they were first used, they have held up well. In preparation for their school work, we will visit the library to get some books that will help identify the birds spotted by the children. This kidnoculars is fun and easy to use! It is lightweight, easy to operate, This is the perfect choice for any adventurer.

A pair of this binocular is my favourite for my 4 1/2 year old grandson and my 2-year-old Despite being not very good at magnification, it is not difficult to use. Honestly, this is my second bird feeder because the first one popped out one of the lenses, and I lost it, and the strap broke after I used it several times a week to watch the feeder birds for about 9 months. In comparison to another binocular I bought him with a little more magnification and focus, he prefers this one. With this one, he should be able to find what he is looking for more easily. It is a breakaway neck strap that they both liked (until the first one broke and it couldn't be used).

As soon as he opened the box, he fell in love with them! During my son's survey of the house, I didn't realize they had rubber around the outside lenses, as well as inside. This came in very handy when he bumped into a corner wall having been looking all over the house. I only have a complaint, but I can see why it might be that way the breakaway cord is very In fact, I have to put it back together nearly every time when my son tries to move them towards his eyes. I understand why it's that way, but even he became annoyed by it. For that reason alone, the product gets a 4 1/2 star rating.
