In Connecticut, I have a boat at a marina on Long Island Sound, and as my fishing skills improve, I've been filleting more and more fish at the marina's fillet table after my fishing One of my friends suggested I go buy a Dexter fillet knife after I had been using a cheap fillet knife for several years I must say, he was With this knife, you get a great feel and balance, and it holds an edge A breeze to sharpen (I bought another DR sharpener at the same time) and I've been able to use it for everything from 9-inch to 12-inch There are porgies (scup) as small as 12 inches all the way up to large flounders, black sea bass, and the For the price I was very pleased with the knife.
There is no difference between the 9" blade and the sheath. The tackle box is not big enough to hold this. In order to put it in your tackle box, the sheath does not have a means to retain the knife. It is only designed for use on the hips and the knife is not meant to be retrieved from there.

So you should know something about DR knives, since they are a standard in the commercial fishing industry.
A great knife for cleaning up trigger fish. I used it to clean 3 of them!.
This tool does the job perfectly.
The edge holds well and the tool works great. Cleaning fish is one of the things I do with this knife. It doesn't matter what size you are.
The material is comfortable and sharp.
