The sheath allows for easy cleaning, and the blade holds an edge for a long time
5/5

Fillet knife I own is the best. Small fish can be affected in a pinch by this. I bought this knife to fillet king salmon, but while out on a boat trip I only had this knife in the boat and it performed well for cleaning bass and perch, despite its extra long blade. The first thing I did was to practice cutting around the ribs so I could see how well it would perform. It handled much better than the Rapala 6" knife I usually This knife has been in my possession for almost a year, and despite having a Work Sharp Ken Onion knife sharpener, I haven't had to touch it While you can purchase the sheath without a sheath for less money, it is better for me to cover my blades since they are often tossed in the glove box of the boat or fishing bag while I fillet fish.

Pros should be able to use it

You will consider it good enough. I worked as a cook for years, so I know what it's like to use such a knife. Knives made from these materials are the standard in These products are good enough for the professionals so you'll be good too.

Decter 9 inch Filet Knife
3/5

I bought this knife in the spring of 2011 and have been using it primarily for saltwater fishing. primarily keep it on the boat and use it for cutting bait, but I never use it for fileting fish for the table. blade length and flex functions well, and the blade has remained sharp without needing to be sharpened I find the handle to be comfortable in my hand. There are about six rust spots on each side of the blade. That's my only concern. There are no deep or abraded scratch marks on the blade, but they are easily removed with some steel wool. Each time I have used it, I have rinsed it well and allowed it to dry before storing it in the sheath and hanging it up in the boat. There were still rust spots on the bridge. In summary, not a bad knife for the money as long as you clean the small amount of rust off each time before using. You should not place the sheath in a wet state.
