At the moment, my daughter is obsessed with princesses, so this seemed to be just what she was looking for. Each princess has a unique skin tone and comes with 4 dresses in a variety of colors. It can have short sleeves or long sleeves, and comes with 6 different colors of dresses. The horse does not come with very much to put on it (3 flowers). The dress bodice and skirt fit the princess differently, the dresses all have a very high waist. We got this set for my preschooler and he loved it! The total number of pieces in this set is 37. In addition to a double sided princess (those with fair skin on one side and dark skin on the other), a horse, a stand for both the princess and horse, and clothing and accessories, the set contains eleven components. You can get really cute dress outfits! I love that this magnet set provides my little princess with the opportunity to play dress up with her dolls at home or on the go without having to bring all of her other dolls with her whether that is to family or friends house or otherwise since she enjoys bringing her dolls with her. In addition to the fact that everything inside is kept in a box, there are three compartments inside to make it easier to find a particular outfit piece. Featuring a handle, it's easy to move and can be used for storage, travel, and even for moving between rooms. You can even put a lid on the top so that things don't fall out all the time. Despite the poor quality, it was a good show. The pictures have not become damaged nor have they peeled while being moderately played with. There are stickers on the blocks as opposed to painted magnetic wood like some Melissa and Doug toys have.
This set combines a good mix of the classics with some newer ones. There is a playability With the included stands, it is easy to display the dolls and mix and match. An adorable set that can be used in the classroom or at home. I recommend it!.
The reason why I picked this set over all of the others that I looked at was that this set came with a box lid. My daughter also mentioned it as one of the first things she noticed when she helped me open I have a granddaughter and her 4 year old The set was played with by a 1/2 year old child the moment it was opened and for most of the next day, so I know it was loved. I expect the figures to hold up well over time. It could be a bit stronger in terms of magnetic force. It's difficult to get the outfits to hold onto the figures unless they're flat against them, which makes them drop off easily when little fingers (or big fingers) move them around, but the kids do not seem to mind and seem to have figured out how to do it. The Doug and Melissa sets seem to lack lids a lot, and I find it hard to believe that so many of them don't come in sturdy boxes. It is easy to store with this lid as it slides in easily.
The magnetic case looks so much nicer than the open tray case that Melissa and Doug have for their other magnetic dress up dolls. Since the princess and horse can't fit inside the lid, they must be attached to the top while it is in transit. They are quite secure, so it shouldn't cause any problems. Besides the handle, it also has a hole for hanging. If your friend's house does not have toys, or if you want to go to a restaurant, you can bring this along.
