Questions & Answers
Although it does not dribble, the lid must be held in place.
You'll have to order a new set if you want to buy the cups individually. So sorry!
Sorry, but my granddaughter broke hers as well, and I'm not going to replace it unless Corelle helps me! I'm sure Ebay has something, but I'd go to a thrift store first. Perhaps it isn't necessary for it to be identical.
Yes. A cellophane window is found on the box top. It's similar to a Christmas bulb holder. The dividers at the bottom are made of cardboard. I'm not sure how long it'll last, but I'm sure it'll be a long time.

This is a cute tea set, but if you want a tea set that your kids can use to make real drinks, look elsewhere! My children's tea pot spills its contents all over the place every time they pour from it! It's a poor layout. The lid is also prone to falling off on a regular basis. It'd be great for pretend play, but I bought it so my kids could pour and drink real liquids. They're so careful, but the water still spills out and the lid falls off all the time; I've tried it myself, and it doesn't pour properly. It's a pity, because the set appears to be fantastic. I gave it two stars because, despite my dislike for it, my children enjoy it greatly. When it spills, however, it irritates them. It kind of ruins their game because it makes them feel like they've done something wrong when it spills all over the place!.
My 3- This was the item that my year old chose to purchase with a birthday giftcard because she wanted a "real" tea set like Frances in the book.
I was upset, but I reasoned that he'd break something eventually, and his birthday had passed, so why not keep the rest of the set? I was disappointed at first, but when he received the gift, he was overjoyed! Because it was a packaging issue, Amazon offered me a partial credit, which I appreciated. Amazon has always provided excellent customer service, so I was happy, and my son was happy, clinking away and serving tea to his brothers, father, and any other visitors. That was a few days ago, and today in the mail, I was surprised to find two new saucers from Schylling! Both companies' products and services have exceeded my expectations! My 6 year old still plays with the tea set we got him years ago (a schylling tin curious george set, long since dented and chipped, but obviously well loved by visiting kids and my own), so this one is great for him and for my younger ones, and I can't wait to let them use actual liquids in it, which I could do wit wit wit wit wit wit wit wit wit wit wit wit wit wit wit I was worried that because it's porcelain, it'd break easily, but it's held up well through a few picnics and stuffed animal parties so far!.
We weren't worried about buying a breakable set because our daughter is used to dealing with glass and real plates. We only have tea parties on the carpet, use a puddle pad as a tablecloth, and only use water inside, so this set is just right for our 21-month-old. It is a huge hit with her. We showed her how to pour with one hand while keeping the other on the tea pot's lid to prevent it from falling off. She quickly realized that she didn't need to do that and simply removed the lid entirely. She pours with both hands on occasion because it is a heavy item. "I like it!" she kept saying. " at the tea party, so we're happy with our purchase. " **A saucer was missing when it arrived, but she didn't notice.
We needed something to serve high tea to toddlers. I looked at a lot of tea sets on Amazon, but the product descriptions didn't appeal to me. I went to a toy store to look at the products and discovered that they were all too small to be considered "real" tea. When I got home, I did another Amazon search, and, lo and behold, there it was! When this set arrived, it was accompanied by photographs of a toddler playing with it. I could tell it was made of thick porcelain and was big enough to hold a real cup of tea for a small child! The cost is unexpectedly low. especially when compared to all the other smaller and more expensive child tea sets. It's made of porcelain, so it'll break, but it's restaurant-grade porcelain, so it'll last longer than Mom's delicate set. This was purchased for child-size servings at high tea with mom and grandma, rather than for everyday play (the tin sets are better for that). I just wish there were four identical child-size luncheon platters on which to serve cucumber sandwiches and pastries with the tea.
This is a great set to have on hand for our special hot chocolate and chai tea parties. The small lidded container is ideal for mini marshmallows. Use a funnel to fill the teapot with liquid, as it will need to be refreshed several times with so many eager tea drinkers!.
