This is one of my favorite sets. The one we like best so far is probably this one. In order to blend the fruit, many of the pieces can be divided in half. There was a 2-hour delay for this event I think all kids would enjoy this as a birthday present, but it would probably work well with a younger one In the beginning, I tried the wooden mixer and did not enjoy it. After I searched for a replacement, I found this one that I am so much happier with. The fact that he can see his items inside is a major plus for my kiddo. With the wooden mixer, the knob in the base moves the items inside, but when the knob is turned on the base, they don't move at all. This picture menu has appealed to me and I can't wait to have him bring me ingredients so that I can make various recipes. In addition to stacking and stashing the various pieces, he also enjoys keeping it tidy. He has thrown / dropped the parts multiple times, but to date, no damage has been done. I agree with another reviewer and I think this thing's cups should come with two! There is plenty of fruit to fill two of them and my son really enjoys sharing his Every time he cooks something he makes two of everything to share with his parents. Having only one cup of coffee was disappointing to him. bought another plastic cup to replace the one that came with the set, but it's not as much fun.
