Questions & Answers

Is there any BPA in these toys?

Hmmm, I just received a response from Learning Resources, and it's not what I expected. Perhaps the difference is due to the fact that Liana asked this question in 2013, and the product is now made differently. This is what I got in my email: br>Thank you for contacting Learning Resources; your inquiry is greatly appreciated. We are firm believers in putting safety first, and all of our toys must pass stringent independent safety tests before being released to the public. BPA-free products are available for children. They also comply with the CPSIA's phthalate requirements. Non-toxic materials are used in all of our children's items. toxic and lead-contaminated free. "This product does not contain BPA," the respondent would simply say if it didn't contain BPA. "The products for children, on the other hand, are BPA-free," they added. However, I did not inquire as to whether the product was "BPA compliant." " I inquired as to whether it contained BPA. Because it is legal to put BPA in products, this toy can, and most likely does, contain BPA while also being legal.br>Inconvenient. I guess I'm going to have to remove this toy from my shopping cart. It's also annoying that companies are sneaky and dishonest, instead of simply answering your question, they cross their fingers and hope that the person asking the question doesn't have good reading comprehension skills. This company has let me down.

What is the material that it is constructed of?

They're made of soft plastic. They were used as teethers by my son at first:

Is there no BPA in it?

The BPA is not present in the "Learning Resources Fresh Picked Fruit and Veggie Tote." I hope this information is useful.

Is it possible for the children to eat the pieces?

My child chewed on it for a long time but never broke it! It has a lot of versatility.

This item is not appropriate for children under the age of two
3/5

It's true that finding pretend fruits and vegetables that are suitable for a two-year-old is difficult; As a result, I was very excited when I saw this product with a recommended age range of 2 years. Thank goodness I keep a close eye on my son because he managed to break a piece of the fake carrot and swallow it! Now, my child does not mouth objects very often at his age; in fact, it is unusual. However, I knew that mouthing the object while he was learning about pretend food would be a risk, which is why I chose a product that was safe for two-year-olds. All I can say is that I'm grateful that my son complied when I told him to spit out the pieces and that I was watching him. Please be extra cautious with this product; I'm giving it a one-star rating because it shouldn't be listed as safe for children under the age of two.

It has a formaldehyde-like odor
3/5

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS MADE FOR TODDLERS AND BABIES! Yes, the food appears to be real, and the portion sizes appear to be suitable for small children. These products, on the other hand, are poisonous. They have a strong FORMALDEHYDE SMELL to them. This is a stain that does not go away when you wash your clothes. After several hours of airing out, the SMELL is still present. According to what I've read online, the formaldehyde odor can linger for up to TWO YEARS because it takes that long to off gas! So you definitely don't want this product near your child's face in your house! We are returning this because it is CANCER triggering and should come with a clear warning label at the very least informing all parents. br>br>.

Play food to the max! This is my favorite toy food
5/5

It's the most realistic material I've come across. The pieces are also long-lasting and simple to grasp and play with for small hands. When I bought this set for my son's first birthday, I was familiar with the brand because my sister has several sets of Learning Resources play food for her children. My sister's sets are several years old and in excellent condition (with the exception of the ones that the dog chewed holes in). The paint hasn't worn off with use, and the kids haven't chewed through or ripped off any of the plastic. They're squishy and firm at the same time. able, and the material is smooth but not slick, so small children can easily grasp it. The fruits and vegetables are also a good size for kids - even if they aren't "life-sized. " They're neither too small nor too large to be a choking hazard. They aren't scaled either - The head of lettuce is approximately the same size as the onion, the ear of corn is approximately four inches long, and so on - The tote included in this set is a cute little addition, and the shape, coloring, and details are all very life-like. For my one-bedroom apartment, this is a good size. year- old, and all of the fruit fits snugly inside without spilling out. br>br>In the future, I plan to purchase more Learning Resources play food for my son! For the time being, this 16-year-old is the only one in the family. This piece set is a great place to start. I'm not in the market for a 30-year mortgage. There are a few pieces of play food strewn about my house. yet :.

Instead, go for the "Munch It" set
4/5

This brand is one of my favorites, and this pretend food looks delicious. Compared to other brands, it appears to be much more realistic. I was disappointed with this assortment because we already had the Learning Resources New Sprouts "Munch It" food set. Some of the most appealing foods were leftovers from the previous set. I was hoping to introduce some tasty vegetables to my 18-month-old son. A head of lettuce, a potato, and an onion are among the items on the plate that don't appear to be particularly child-friendly or in any form that a child would recognize. This set is useful for color-coding and sorting items. The grocery bag is flimsy and will most likely be thrown away soon. Instead, I suggest picking up the Munch It set! For that, I give you five stars. The play set is of high quality
5/5

This fruit and vegetable set was purchased for my two-year-old daughter, who received a play kitchen for Christmas. I knew from the reviews that the vegetables would not fill the small bag to the brim as pictured, so I was not disappointed. The quantity is more than sufficient, and my husband and I were blown away by the level of detail in each piece. It's made of a soft, thick plastic. Everything about it feels high-quality, especially in comparison to the low-cost plastic food that came with our play set. Overall, I am extremely pleased, and I will not hesitate to purchase my Learning Resources products in the future.

It's a big hit with my 18-month-old
5/5

The fruit is a denser type of material that I enjoy; my daughter will pretend to eat them but still bite down, and it does not dent or leave marks on her teeth. It reminds me of the self-healing targets you can shoot, but it's not as big. Every child should have a piece of fake fruit to help them learn colors and words. The quality of the bag is far superior to what I had anticipated.
Note: People who complain about the odor must have particularly sensitive noses. I smelled them, and yes, they have a plastic odor, but it isn't unpleasant. It smells exactly like the slide we got our daughter and the rocking horse we got her, both of which are made of the same dense plastic. The chemicals that aren't used are also a plus.

Toy that can be used to learn
4/5

This has been an excellent educational tool for teaching my toddler the names of fruits and vegetables. He takes pleasure in transporting them. The only issue is that some of them are a little small, and he continues to put things in his mouth, so it should only be used under close supervision. I was taken aback by how much enjoyment he gets out of them - They are made of a very nice material and of good quality, and they can be counted, taken in and out of the bag, named the various fruits and colors, and so on. They are not, however, life-size. Overall, this was a wise decision.
