A skin is really more like an iXL game. Our 4yr old son got it about a year ago, but although he has shown some interest in it, it has not been the greatest fascination. Our group is putting together some books and toys for the hospital when he has surgery in a few weeks. There are only a few new games for the iXL, so I thought maybe a few new ones would spark some interest in it (it was far too expensive to see it Also, he is in the middle of a massive Toy Story kick, so this was a great choice. The disappointment is heartbreaking! 3 little games are all it adds. There is a "find the toys" aspect (based on their silhouettes), a number recognition portion, and a letter/spelling recognition portion. Each of the three applications pre-installed is the same *exact* application Art Studio, MP3 Player, and Photo Viewer - The installation has been completed. The only difference is that they have Toy Story logos on them. It has just floored me. That's the truth. Content that is exactly the same, but wrapped in the Toy Story skin. In other words, the MP3 player does not add any new songs. It just displays Toy Story characters (faces) while the same 4 preexisting songs are played Songs installed on the computer are played. This applies to the photo editor as well. There are no new stamps, just Toy Story tunes while you color (if you can keep it on loud enough). Additionally, there is a story that involves Thanks for reading. The value of that might turn out to be greater than I anticipated. It will be interesting to see what happens. It is not the goal of iXL for their games, therefore I will return the others before opening/installing them. I thought this was a great deal. It would cost about 99 cents to purchase an equivalent Nook or Droid app.
As well as the handheld IXL, I got this for Christmas for my son. My mistake was not realizing that the game would have to be loaded on the computer and then transferred to the handheld device. On Christmas Day Fisher and I were playing the game - my mistake. Due to the high number of children getting this as gifts for Christmas, Price must have had a very high volume of traffic, as we could not get the site to work. day, everything worked fine for him, but I felt a bit sorry for him as his siblings were playing with the games they received for Christmas that they could put in their systems and use right away while he was asking why his wasn't working.
In comparison to all three iXL games we have seen (three), this is by far the most popular one. plenty of options, and the story portion of the game is very interactive. The games are subtle and teach in a way the kids don't perceive as being educational but fun. I've played this game with my 3 1/2 year old for years now and it is a great way to help him learn coordination, to make Buzz jump, and that getting stuck in the rubbish can be dangerous. He The thumbs up are in order!.
It has top-of-the-line animation and sound and offers a range of activities to keep your students engaged for a long time. Buzz and Woody have joined the iXL network of software that will entertain and educate for quite some time.
I've been enjoying watching my son play with it ever since he was 2. The game of hide and seek with the toys is especially beloved by him. What I like most about it is that it highlights the words as it reads the story. The best way to learn.
My friend in Europe is taking English in kindergarten, so I got it for her. His learning foreign language while having fun and playing games is a great way to have fun and practice.
My granddaughter, 4, is very fond of working on my computer, so I bought her one for Christmas. While I was away, I would like her to have something she could use. She now snuggles up next to me so we can work together on OUR computers.
The story was also popular with him and I liked that it asked comprehension questions at the end of scribbling. The price was well worth it!.
