of the butterflies have been released. The average is about once every two or three The deck is also a place where we keep them. You can clean the bottom of the jar with a little baking soda on a sponge and Make sure you do As far as catapillars go, I have never tried it with an aquarium, but the same steps should suffice. It is easier to remove and clean cut plants and leaves if you keep them in a small flower pot.
Unfortunately, we are not able to send butterflies to Hawaii. As opposed to milkweed, the crown flowers are plentiful here. I have seen them regularly for the past 6 months, and I have recently been told that they are especially plentiful during January and February.

The habitat of this butterfly would fit five to six butterflies comfortably. That should be helpful, thanks!.
This item fell apart so much that the caterpillars were able to escape, so I am returning it. Furthermore, the top zips all the way up, so access can only be gained that way. As long as the caterpillars are young, you can access the cage, but once they form a crysilis, you cannot, so if you have to feed other larvae or clean the cage(which is done daily), you will disturb the Please note ****EDITED The seller refunded me money when I returned the smaller cage, and then sent me the larger cage at no charge! Thank you RestCloud! I am so happy with my new cage! Your service was top notch!.
In order to foster the emergence of Monarch butterflies, I have tried this method quite a few times now. In my opinion, the following are the reasons I am concerned about this product1. Even though it has a large zippered opening at the top, if you have more than one butterfly, you can allow them to be disturbed by opening it for the first time. As soon as a butterfly hatches, you need the opening to let the butterfly out, but if the upper part of the seal goes against the wall, it can bang those who are not yet There is a small door at the side, so cleaning it is challenging due to the large leaves that must be inserted and removed. It also doesn't help that it's hard to reach into the enclosure with a camera or a piece of paper to clean it. In the time it takes for the caterpillars to grow, they'll produce a lot of poop. To keep your caterpillars safe, you need to get it out regularly, sometimes more often if you have more than four. 3 *br > It is very difficult to clean the "poop" easily because the edges of the bottom are not finished. I have smashed the enclosure down and set it down on the ground. More shakes have escaped. We wish it were easier so that their safety would be assured. The fourth item As soon as I finished a batch of 10 which was my largest, I wanted to clean this thoroughly however, stains on the outer mesh and the bottom could not be removed. When I lost four out of the largest batch I had, I was very disappointed. A small chrysalis that had died died and three black chrysalis emerged. There is no way I know if they had gotten infected with aphids before they were placed inside or if it was dirty. To prevent pests from harming the leaves, it is always advisable to wash them thoroughly before putting them in.
Otherwise, it is perfect if you are interested in a cage that is not so tall! Leaf bugs require more space than this, but caterpillars could make good use of it as well. A feature I really enjoy is that it unzips almost all the way around. By doing this, things can be added to the cage much more easily. Additionally, it's helpful if the bug is on one side of the zipper, because you can open it from the other end. I also like the little door on top of the zipper. This little cage looks to be quite sturdy.
In order to make my purchase, I considered three factors You can put it up in no time It's just a matter of unfastening the Velcro, and the habitat is ready. This is a very good purchase and I wish it were available for everyone.
After opening the package, I learned that the product needs to be flipped inside-out to expand. It wasn't a big deal, and once it was expanded, the product looked just like the picture. Although there is a small rip in the top near the zipper, the hole is so small that it won't make a difference to I've been using it for many months since I bought it, and it's working perfectly.
Monarch eggs hatched on the exact same day as our habitat arrived. It is already possible for our caterpillars (CATS) to consume all of the milkweed in their bodies. As usual, the Restcould habitat arrived in perfect condition, and our cats are staying safe in it. The fact that they were constructing chrysalises only on top of the habitat was causing problems as our cats began to build them. It would be possible to access without disturbing the process if the side entry were used. The rest of the process went smoothly.
This cage was used to house the many monarch caterpillars we had in our garden. We tried to raise them, but were unsuccessful the first time, but it was easy to clean, so we did it Then I just put some dish soap in the sink and it cleaned up all by itself! There was nothing wrong with the second set of caterpillars in here and they made their chrysalis on It was not difficult for them to climb inside this cage or attach themselves to its The top and side entrances made it easy for me to get to them. In fact, I was able to use a stick pin to fix a cocoon that fell and I was able to put it back on top. Using this year after year is a dream come true for us!.
