My son had to dig up and create fossils as part of our home school lessons. The fact that he also loves rocks and minerals made this mix a perfect match. quite a bit of time if done right, so he is learning a lot about this topic. The specimens are of a good size, and you get a lot. This is a worthwhile purchase. I would highly recommend this product.

RECENT UPDATES There are just a few days left until Valentine's Day yet the kit just arrived. A holiday gift we got this year that was most enjoyable as a group was this. The best thing I could do would be to buy forty of these and store them in a closet in case of Having some time to talk after Christmas morning, when everyone is relaxed, and digging up fossils and jewels is a pleasure. They love it, the grandparents do too, the teens as well. As you can see, there's a lot to it. You can put the remaining block in the box for a week whenever it gets old. On a lazy January morning, bring it back to the table. Go on a treasure hunt! Considering that we are a family of five, we use a few dental tools at once so that everyone can dig simultaneously.

We used this almost every day for a week to discover more treasures, and my five year old still likes it a lot. In addition to helping him, I had so much fun that I may have overindulged. I was pleased to see that they had a kit that contained both fossils and minerals and gems. Prime day was the perfect time to get this for my 5 year old. I received the package today, and he is almost finished with all 20 items. An interesting object like these is much more intriguing to a 5 year old who likes shiny objects due to the fact that they are manicured beautifully. It's only the quality of the digging tools that I have an issue with. It comes with a chisel and a brush with bristles that fall out when it's all used up. There have been other fossil kits I've purchased that came with a hammer that gave me a real advantage in uncovering.

This was a fun activity that I bought and was looking forward to finding all of the gemstones and fossils, but after digging through everything, I discovered that there were two I was missing one of each gemstone and fossil. The box stated that there were 10 gemstones and 10 fossils.

I wanted to find a dig kit that would be fun for the kid who has done it before, considering that we have bought a lot of different kits. A lot of fossils and gems are included in this kit, making it the best! When you find one, there is another one waiting for you just around the corner. Each rock has been polished nicely, and some of the fossils are polished as well, coming in a variety of sizes and shapes. There is, however, a need to be cautious when digging the fossils because some of them can be fragile. One of the best kits we have ever purchased.

This was a huge hit with my rock hound 8 year old daughter. Our goal was to chip out all the rocks and fossils after school, which took us about a week since To see a new item in her booklet after finally getting an item out of the block was very satisfying to her. We still have an unnamed rock that isn't in the booklet, and not all of the rocks and fossils have been listed.
