There are regular sheet music that match the bell set in color. The music was relatively easy to follow by both children who could and could not read music. There were a few who did read music, which helped a lot. To get the rhythm in the children's heads, I had them sing the songs before we played it with the bells. This worked perfectly.

Overall, it was Kids not normally engaged in music found some difficulty with the colors used to print the musical notes that were so close as to be almost undistinguishable, respectively. However, they quickly got used to it. As I mentioned, the song we used was "Angels We Have Heard On High" which was shortened to avoid taking up too much space by using two repeat bars and two endings, which required a lot of practice and explanation on the part of the students who were not already music students. With two other adults holding two bells each, two of us practiced this for five or ten minutes, and after that, we were able to play a song with decent rhythm and I consider this to be a great first music purchase for a beginning small bell group, because it contains a good variety of songs, suitable for different occasions. It is unlikely that all 13 notes will be used in a given octave of bells in most songs. The truth is, none of them does. That wasn't something I would have considered when I was with my 13 girls group. If we only sang one number, the majority of the girls would have been left out of our song because we only needed 6 notes.
Will look forward to purchasing more products from this company in the near future. The book is quite easy to understand and the songs chosen were quite nice.
I bought this for a friend as a gift. She does not have any musical training, so this book is perfect for her as well as anyone who would enjoy a bell set but doesn't have musical skills. Kids love this song and can learn colors and numbers with it!.
My fourth grade students can easily read the colored notes thanks to their size. A variety of songs are included in this book, many of them can be played using simple 8-note instruments There are handbells in the picture.
