Bachmann Trains - Coastliner Ready To Run Electric Train Set - HO Scale

In my opinion, it was a great buy because I wanted a ready to run train that was all in one box. This train looks more realistic in person than it does in the Amazon photos. I was surprised at how detailed the locomotive was and the rolling stock was for this price. It is easy for the train to run smoothly on the track since it fits together well and does not derrail. There is about a 3 foot diameter circle formed by the track, which is a good size and shape for under a tree, however I chose not to run mine under the tree in order to avoid carpet lint and dirt contamination. Obviously, it probably isn't the best choice if you're looking for an expensive train set, but if you want a decent train at a low price to run during the holidays (or maybe all year round and not just for the holiday season), I recommend buying this.

The heartbreak is too much for him. My friend brought it in today and I was putting the track together for him and it's missing a lot of the connectors that connect one rail to the other. My only complaint is that after I got the track almost assembled, I noticed that the power wire that connected the controller to the track didn't come with the kit! I would think you could buy a complete train set for this amount of money! Keep your money in your wallet and don't buy this garbage!.

After a train has arrived at its destination, it works well. The biggest challenge for us was getting it on the track in the first place. When finally getting it on the track, it stayed there most of the time. It is more time consuming trying to get it on the track. Our grandson loved trains, but we do not use it often as it is a time consumer. There is a lot of quality in it and I like its design. I believe this is more of a "me" issue than it is a locomotive problem.

I initially purchased the set and it looked great. It was easy to assemble and operate, but after about a month of being owned by me, I noticed the engine didn't run as fast as it used to. I'm not sure what has happened. It is very disappointing, since I have other engines that I have had for years and have never had any problems with.

I have worked for CSX for many years, so I really wanted to love this train set. However, it was extremely frustrating and a very I wanted to surprise my grandson, who is five, with this train set because he loves trains. As easy as it was to snap together the track, it was far more difficult to position the locomotive in such a way that it was capable of moving. As soon as we managed to get it working, the train would make several rounds, but stop for no apparent reason. We don't even want to get it out of the box now. I bought it to go around the Christmas tree.
