NCE NCE5240223 USB Programmer for Power Cab

Since I have upgraded most of my system components, I am ecstatic to finally have mine. I thought it would be really cool to be able to control the trains from my laptop. Although I couldn't be sure it was right until I tried the throttle, I managed to set up the JMRI and decoder pro easily. My locomotive lit up immediately. I was thrilled to see the board light up. Yet, I haven't tried withrottle yet, but that's on the horizon. During the second half of the course, It took me five hours to completely set up the four So I have read the code on the main and have changed a couple lighting and sound values. I think I'll try it on the programming track after I set the wireless up. Nonetheless, it works well and has been much more reliable and reliable than the automatic system, which I had trouble with. However, there has been no complaint whatsoever from the company.

NCE is the second item that I have purchased and only the second time that I have received a defective item. In this case the little SMD part had broken off of the board. I didn't even bother opening the box because I was able to see the part sitting in the bottom. I also had difficulty with a separate item I purchased, an NCE power cab starter set. In that case, I got in touch with NCE technical support before returning it. It was mentioned to me that their defect rate is very low, around 1% to 2%. I went out and bought a stock train with a stock decoder designed to work with NCE controllers after they said I probably did something wrong installing my own decoders in my own locomotives. I returned that controller for a new one because it didn't work, so I received a new one. I have had a defect rate of 100% for all of my NCE purchases so far. Inadvertently, I had to reorder and pay extra for overnight shipping, as the plan was to get it by the weekend, so that I could get started as soon as I had free time. Today, let's hope I don't get another dud. A few points to keep in mind Having received the second controller, I would give this a 5 star rating because it is so cool and works so well. After I receive the new board and see if it works or if it breaks again, I will update this review too. The little white SMD device you can see just floating in there on the right hand side of this picture is just floating in there on the board. The point where the wire should be soldered onto the board can be seen slightly above and to the left.

It's an awesome little gadget once I got my head around it. I got a little lost setting it up, but once I got it working it was great. There is only one problem with this order, and it's not with the seller or the product. The problem was with the post office. I travel with this on my power cab and I'm controlling.

We had a difficult time getting it to work for JMRI for a few weeks since there is very little information about how to do this.

The NCE Train Control Software can be used to connect a computer to your NCE DCC train set. Once you have your computer programmed your DCC chips, you can automate your trains using the appropriate programming.

It consists of the NCE is a retailer from which I have purchased a few items. Buying the PowerCab and this piece will be well worth the investment. Having to remove all the jumpers on mine so it could talk to my PC was a challenge. Make sure your PC has the proper drivers installed, install Java, then load For instructions on getting started and setting up JMRI, watch YouTube videos. Take a look at.

My need to interface my computer with the NCE DCC system using the JMRI software was addressed when the circuit interface board was installed. Everything was easy to set up and is working fine.
