Questions & Answers

What is the wireless capability of this DCC?

There is a Prodigy wireless system available to use with this setup, but this particular unit is not one!

Can this be used with Unitrack Kato?

The Kato Unitrack app works great with it. Put the wires into the main box after the wires are spliced out of the track. Be sure you use a kato power extension, so the wires do not come out of the track directly.

This controller can be used to run 2 diesel-electric locomotives with sound and smoke. Can I use it to run 2 ho-dcc steam locomotives?

Our Prodigy Advance Squared will be able to operate the two locomotives you have bought in HO scale. Sound and smoke features can be used in this way.

The mrc district booster needs to be connected to the prodigy Advance 2 in order to be used. Can the advance 2 be powered by booster outlets if it doesn't have one?

In order to use Advance Squared and Advance Advance systems, insert the supplied connecting cable into the "Factory Use Only" port on the back of the

The unit is easy to set up and works well, but may need a As compared to the days when we used to model railroad, today's trains are very sophisticated
5/5

This unit is helping me set up a small garden railroad in the back yard. It was very simple to set up at first. (Plug it in and switch it on) However, as noted in the manual, you will need the MRC 8 amp booster if it is to be used on a G scale layout. In less than one minute, when I tried running two engines at the same time, the unit went into overload.

The best is the only option
5/5

I have only one word to describe what I experienced To replace my Digitrax Zephyr, I got this device, and the user interface is night and day. With the new system, you no longer need to program CV's to get a four digit address to work, no BS - just straight forward, easy to That's awesome and I love it! There was a choice between this and the NCE Power Cab/SB5 combo, and not only did that NCE stuff cost more, but you don't get a program track, so at only 250 bucks, and only one program track, I opted for this. 1 amp. There is a 5 amp limit. MRC won by a landslide! My choice of them has proven to be a wise decision! It is even easier to program with the Prodigy Adv 2 than it is with the NCE since you DO NOT have to remove locks from the track! The mainline allows you to program the locos without having to stop your layout - just call up the loco you want to program and do it! You have come to the right place if you are in the market for a DCC system!.

A DCC controller I built myself for the first time
5/5

Using this device is easy since it is easily set up and operated. A) to gain more knowledge Although this DC controller does not offer some of the features that other DCC controllers do, it offers more than enough features to get me started. I've used MRC DC controllers before with my DC layouts so I chose to buy this Prodigy Advance2. (On my first attempt at programming (changing) addresses of my few engines, I had them running on the layouts within minutes. that it came with a longer, less stiff cable that connects the main unit and the hand-held throttle. A good feature would be to have the LCD on the hand-held throttle display the current status of all 29 functions (on/off) The only way to see F1 to F10 is by clicking the tabs.

It is a great product that pack's a lot of punch I like this product
4/5

It's pretty versatile in a small package. The instruction manual is terrible, but if you have previous experience with DCC, it should be OK for you. It would be helpful if the flat cables were longer. The two I own are good to me. Additional throttle ports are available for large layouts, so you don't need to worry about keeping up if your throttle ports are in different places. Until new settings are entered by the operator, the engine will continue to follow its programmed operation. Children should not use this product.

I am impressed with how easy it is to operate the advance2. According to my opinion, Prodigy Express is greatly superior to this one.

The MRC Prodigy Advance2 is an easy-to-use tool
5/5

spent a lot of time on the internet shopping and reading comments from discussion groups before I purchased a DCC controller. DCC controllers tend to be a computer/electrical nightmare, and since I'm not an expert in this type of stuff, I wanted to find the easiest to set up and use. In the end, I made the right decision by purchasing an MRC unit. I can still do more with it if I want to with it, because it does everything I want. Although it may not have all of the features that other DCC controllers have, it has enough to fulfill most of its tasks.

Other reviews have given their opinions about the best unit to purchase, but I am sure everyone has their own opinions. As I have learned from everyone else, this works for me, and I will continue to learn!.
