Is this the back of the arms?

They are, indeed.

Is the color of the red rpm parts true to life? In product shots, they appear to be a washed-out maroon color. ?

They're more of a maroon color than a true red. I do, however, like the color.

Is it aluminum or plastic that these are made of?

My stock a arm had had enough after I accidentally sent my car kart spinning. br>These RPM a arms appear to be of good quality and should last a long time. I had no trouble installing these in my rustler, which is 12 years old. When the next stock part fails, I'm going to look for RPM first.

RPM is a great song. It bolted right up to my Rustler from the 2004 xl1 era. The quality and fit are excellent.

The components from RPM are fantastic. Warranty is for a lifetime. Because they flex, you are less likely to break them. I've never had one of these break, and I always use RPM parts instead of OEM.
