Questions & Answers
Yes, these are ideal for the Rustler because they give it a nice wide stance and, in my opinion, improve handling. I would strongly suggest it.
Not every rpm component is made of plastic.
It is recommended that you use the manufacturer's screw kit to install these arms, according to the manufacturer.
So I'm not sure how the wheel part in a stampede hits the arm, but I bought two sets of these rpm arms for my stampede 2wd vxl a few years ago and have never needed to replace them. They work well, last a long time, and by widening the front track, they improved the 2wd stampede's stability. The only issue was that I needed to purchase longer turn buckles, which I believe I did with Revo. I strongly advise any stampede owner to purchase these rpm arms.

This was used to increase the width of my son's 2wd stampede. To match the car's original front offset, I needed to get longer camber and steering links, as well as new tires. However, after completing the project, I gained about an inch in wheel width, which makes a significant difference in the car's ability to roll over. We're only chasing it half as much as we used to be. Rpm makes high-quality plastic parts for RC vehicles, and this is a great upgrade.
The fit is perfect, and the installation is a breeze. I was hesitant to buy it because I was afraid it wouldn't work or that it wouldn't be the right part, but it fits the Rustler perfectly! It has a much more aggressive stance and handles much better. If you're getting this for the Rustler, don't forget to get part 3645 and part 3463 as well!.
The only issue is that I own a VXL. While the instructions are improving (they used to have the wrong part for the turnbuckles you needed to buy), they are still not perfect, especially because the VXL has thicker turnbuckles. As a result, the instructions state that the steering turnbuckles should be purchased separately from the uppers, and that the current steering turnbuckles should be used. That's great, but the VXL ends are too big for the 2338 turnbuckles. So go ahead and purchase some end links to go with these. br>br>Despite the fact that these arms allow you to run the same wheel front and rear, I used the rears in the front and the fronts in the back. I tried both front wheels, but the track was too wide to allow for sharp turns. br>br>You're probably thinking to yourself, "Why is this so bad?" The Stampede's standard turning radius is awful! "br>I agree, but the fact that the track is nearly as wide as the wheelbase is long. This makes controlling it at high speeds extremely difficult. Then it simply whips around at low speeds. The front is about 1/2" (total 1/4" on each side) shorter than the rears when the rear wheels are on the front and the front wheels are on the back. It's hard to tell. See pics. However, it manages to do so admirably. I tried a different set of rears in the back and it works perfectly. br>br>Also, with the stock front A-frame, it works perfectly. br>br> When you turn your arms, the back wheels will collide. With these arms, no way. During the suspension travel, they spin perfectly fine. br>br>I'm telling you, if you're debating whether or not to get these, don't. They are, without a doubt, one of the best Stampede upgrades. br>br>As for the Rustler, I can only imagine that these would be equally as good. br>I have a Bandit as well. I added the Stampede front arms to it, which sufficiently widened the track. It's a lot better at handling things. I don't think it's a bad idea to keep it a buggy and run these arms, but I think the front would be too wide in comparison to the back. Perhaps the rear arms should be changed as well? However, whether or not you want to replace the rear upper turnbuckles is a separate consideration. br>br>Now, if you want to use these on an XL-sized screen, follow these instructions. 5. You'd make the same modifications as directed in the instructions, and the ends should fit perfectly.
I'm new to the hobby, but RPM products have always been great, and these gave my 2wd Traxxas Slash the slightly wider stance I wanted.
They feel great and are of good quality, and they don't require any modifications to install on a slash. I'm so happy with them that I bought another set for my son's rustler.
They've never been a problem for me.
Great parts, and I especially like the RPM replacements. I just wish they included all of the parts for the wide kit in one package so you didn't have to go looking for the missing pieces.
That is precisely what I was looking for. Way more durable than stock, and I like how wide the stance is.
