Questions & Answers

Is it able to withstand water?

The fan does not appear to be waterproof. I got mine wet and it still works, but I'm sure the fan's life will be cut short.

Is it the esc or just the fan that's causing this?

It consists of a fan and the bracket that attaches to the vxl esc, as well as the bolts that secure the fan to the bracket.

Is this going to work with my 1/16 Summit VXL?

Is there a VXL-compatible version? 3s esc? If the answer is yes, then the answer is yes. If the answer is no, then the answer is no.

The only good thing about Mount is that it is surrounded by water
3/5

So, I'm aware that the hr fans are ineffective because they don't move any air. I bought it solely for the clamp style aluminum heat sink mount because it will never come off when jumping or other activities. I attached my own 30mm aluminum 2800rpm heat sink fan and wow. It's a bit pricey to buy just the mount and then add your own high-powered fan, but it's well worth it. If I hadn't been in such a rush, I would have shopped around for a better deal. I'll try to include a video in the feature that shows how bad the hr fans are in comparison to others.

I had high hopes for this fan blade, but it broke quickly
3/5

Because my return deadline has passed and I only ran my stadium truck once with the fan due to a bad shock, I'm giving this two stars overall. So I got my shocks today, put everything together, and drove around the YARD without jumping, going too fast, or anything like that. I rolled around in the grass once, nothing out of the ordinary, and didn't think much of it until I finished the battery. By the way, I bought the fan because I have a mesh chassis cover. Anyway, I let the truck cool down and got a new battery, and when I started it up, I noticed the fan wasn't running, and upon closer inspection, one of the blades had broken off, and the fan was stuck. I chose this fan over the Traxxas one because I thought it would be better, and I was very pleased at first, but if it broke just putting around the GRASS, I'm not sure how it would hold up in a race or when bashed. I'll just say that I'm hoping mine wasn't a dud.

There are some changes that should be made
3/5

So the only issue I have is that the wires on my esc have to be pushed down to keep the metal from cutting in. I put a few sleeves of shrink wrap on it to help, but I still feel it will cut right through it over time. I like the idea, but I think I would rather make the bars shorter and put a hold in the plates on the esc, but I haven't been able to find a better one yet.

If you have a brushed motor, replace it with one of these brushless motors and thank me later
5/5

What can I say but wow, I had the brushed version of the rustler 4x4 and I took it out, threw it away, and replaced it with this Traxxas brushless system and wow, that was a game changer. It's a whole new ballgame with a three-cell battery. However, be prepared to begin replacing the plastic parts beneath it with aluminum or stronger plastic parts, as you will begin to break things LOL.

This was an excellent purchase
5/5

This does exactly what it says on the tin. The only drawback was that there were no instructions for installation, but it was extremely simple to figure out. I was extremely pleased with the outcome, and it was well worth the investment. I've also run in river water with no problems.

Loud, flimsy, and largely ineffective
3/5

Installed without difficulty, plugged it in, and was immediately surprised by how loud this small fan is. With it, I got one run on my car and lost two blades. There's no way to keep small rocks from getting into the fan, which is probably how they got out.

In a single day, I went from a die-hard fan to a broke one
3/5

I took the RC off some jumps, and the fan became extremely loud at first. I continued until the fan completely stopped working, and I noticed that two blades were missing. As a result, this took about an hour to complete. I purchased the ESC and motor fans, one of which was missing one blade and the other three, and both of which had stopped working.

My Rustler VXL likes it a lot
5/5

My Rustler VXL likes it a lot. The fan and a height extension for the high capacity lipo are a little low on the shock tower, but it works fine. When installing the fan, avoid putting any pressure on the blades or the center of the fan. When I pushed the fan onto the heat sink, it dislodged, and I had to push the blades back up into the housing with the flat head of a screwdriver. Once re- The fan performed admirably and did its job once it was properly positioned.
