To fit completely snugly, the fin area will need to be trimmed.
It will, in fact.
I'm not sure if there is a correct or incorrect method for installing this heat sink. I positioned it so that the tallest fins were closest to the chassis's lateral edge. My Slash 4x4 has shorter fins that are closer to the drive shaft. Because the motor wires rest on the fins, I rounded out the edges of the longer fins with a file to keep them in place. Don't forget to stock up on thermal compound as well.
Yes, it works perfectly in my 4x4 Ultimate, which is built on an LCG chassis.

It appears to be functioning properly. I raced my slash platinum around a carpet track for 15 minutes and the motor was only slightly warm to the touch, unlike before when it became too hot to touch after about 10 minutes. br>I used some arctic silver thermal compound between this and the motor, which could be the difference if yours isn't working properly. There is no need to remove anything because it clips right on over the side of the motor case. To keep my motor wires from rubbing against the fins, I tightened them in my wire clip. br>I positioned the thicker fins on the outside of the slash to allow access to my motor mount screw.
This piece appeals to me. It appears to be well-made and snaps into place easily. I'm running it on a Velineon VXL on a Slash 4x4 and it keeps the motor a little cooler. It doesn't make a huge difference, but it does help. It went from being impossible to touch the engine for fear of it burning to simply being very warm. br>br>Use this if you ride on rocky trails, go through a lot of water, or take your RC through mud. Cooling fan fins will be rendered useless.
On 550 motors, the heat sinks look great. I mounted them on a Jeep from Power Wheels.
Compatible with the Tamiya tt02 brushed engine.
The temperature on my Slash Unlimited 4x4 with 3s Lipo on an older VXL3s model was reduced thanks to this product. If you're doing 3s, this is a must-have.
In every way, the item was exactly as described. It's great that there are long and short fins on it. Allows you to choose from a wider range of fit options. Use a little heat sink paste on the motor under the sink if you have a serious overheating problem.
The design allows for maximum surface area where others have short fins and a less thoughtful design. Mounted to a TRX4 absolutely perfect! It also appears to be quite attractive.
0 vxl. It fits my 4tec's motor perfectly, and I have one on my slash as well, and I think it's a big help. Things get hot in TX, so I'll take any assistance I can get.
