Similar shaped tools can be found for less money, or you can get more tools from other brands for roughly the same price. br>br>Some of the tooling ends appear to be larger than I expected, so getting very small details in whatever you're sculpting may be difficult. When working with green stuff, you'll want to use a water lubricant on the tooling ends to keep it from sticking to the tools. br>br>It's still a useful tool in the hobbyist's toolbox. They have a nice grip and are of good quality. The tooling ends, on the other hand, could be smaller and more precise.
I use a lot of Army Painter products in my work. You name it: paint, scenery, etc. These tools, like their other products, are fantastic. Green stuff, putty, and PVA glue are all excellent choices. Comfortable, with a variety of tips for various applications and a simple to clean design. Modeling and basing sand minis are made easier with these tools.
Minor OCD niggle: two of the tools' handle textures/patterns match, but the third tool's do not. They're fantastic for sculpting polymer clay. However, because the steel is quite soft, it should not be used to turn screws or on anything else made of metal; otherwise, the tool will be destroyed.
It was annoying, but Amazon waived the return and gave me a refund, so 2 out of 3 isn't bad.
Unfortunately, I broke a friend's crucifix from Florence, Italy. . . with these tools, I was able to shape and form the clay around the sculpture in order to repair it.
This, like all the army painter products I've tried, is an excellent product. These tools are very simple to use and versatile, and I find that I use them to apply texture paints as well. My main gripe is that it was supposed to arrive three days after I ordered it with Prime - but it didn't. It took two and a half weeks to arrive after I placed my order, and I was given three different delivery dates.
It didn't work for me, so I went to a dollar store and bought some plastic ones that worked much better with the apoxie sculpt.
