Questions & Answers

Those really are cheap plastic things, aren't they?

While the sticks are pretty flimsy, I have not yet broken any.

Which one is this? Is it the original ?

The height of this one is about 15 inches. In addition to this, they make more challenging versions. It is for my nieces, age 11 and 13, who are both teens. It was their first time playing it and they had so much fun, even though they were older!

How long does it take for the marbles to melt?

There are no holes in them. These are real marbles - they're nice and thick I wouldn't recommend them for young children as they're too small to swallow, but they won't break if they fall down. The game was great.

What recent purchases are you aware of that indicate these are glasses?

The two movies purchased on June 26 were the most recent purchases. The bloodshot and torpedo of 2020

It can be considered a classic
3/5

This was one of the most common games kids played growing up. It's really disappointing that Matel bites every penny out of every product. The sticks are so flimsy cheap it's hard for my 5 year old to get the sticks through, as you add more, and more, to the game because they bend so badly. The Box is so thin that it is beyond the limit of endurance. There should be a little bag to keep the sticks and marbles in once they have been collected. Again, the price of the box is so low that it will cause prices to fall! Make sure you have a zip lock bag handy since this game won't stay closed. You will have to tape/ seal the entire end of the game and set it right on the table. Since I remember why I disposed of this game from the last child, I remember why I threw it in the trash.

My brother and I adored this game when we were kids
3/5

The game I played as a kid was one of my favorites! It could be that I recall it incorrectly, but I really think that this is a lot cheaper I found the plastic to smell almost toxic when I first opened it. In addition, laying out the sticks takes a considerable amount of time. In order to test this, I have tried it with different age groups ranging from four to sixteen years old The process of putting the sticks through the holes in order to set up the game is frustrating for children of all different ages. There is a tendency for these kids, regardless of their age, to get irritated by this process even though they do not stick the straws completely through the My personal experience is that even as an adult who understands how the sticks should be placed, it is difficult. Depending on a child's age, it may not be obvious what the objective is after the game is set up, but it's still There is simply no reason for it to be made poorly!.

The quality of the product and the way it was made disappointed me
3/5

The game took longer to play compared to inserting the sticks. I bought this for my granddaughter to play with. As soon as the first four are complete After inserting five sticks, the remaining sticks are impossible to align with the opening in the cylinder due to the thickness of the sticks. In contrast to our playing time, we spent a great deal of time inserting the sticks. In the current player, marbles do not easily fall out of the tray. A very disappointing experience. There are several problems with the design and the quality.

As described in the original, but not exactly what it was
3/5

There are much thinner sticks in the remake than in the original. As a result, the holes tend to bend easily and it is difficult for my daughter's 7-year-old granddaughter to put them in. Once you get it set up, it is a fun game.

A different image is shown online than what is delivered
3/5

An image of a glass marble box with Ker Plunk can be seen here. It was specifically requested that it come with glass marbles, but what I received had a different image on the box and came with plastic red, yellow and green marbles rather than the glass ones I requested. For most kids, it would probably be alright, but the quality of the ker plunk we played with as kids in the 1980s is far inferior to that of the current version.

The game used to be my favorite when I was The game used to be my favorite when I was Nowadays, a lot of things are being made for much less money

However, it works the same, but it is plastic, so you may have to find another container to store it in. The sticks are made out of very flimsy plastic, which is easy to bend and break.

A favorite of mine was the original version
3/5

It is a big letdown to see the new version! When I was a kid, this was a family favorite. I bought it for my daughter because it reminded me of home. It features a simple concept, yet still boasts a high level of excitement and suspense Would it be possible to remove one stick without releasing the marbles all at once? I played this original version of the game many times over! It stood the test of time and was sturdy. This new edition has been cut to the core by Mattel. It is impossible to push the sticks through the holes because they are flimsy and inexpensively made. Likewise, the new sticks appear to be a little shorter than the originals, barely span the vessel, and do not appear to line up with the holes in the wall. There is no easy way to remove the sticks once the game has been set up. In addition to not being as pretty or functional as the original marble holder, it's also not as durable. I hate dealing with this! During the game's brief residence at our kitchen table, my family played with me, making me laugh while I reminisced about how much better it was while it was "in the good ole days!". A fellow Amazon suggested that using wooden skewers could be an effective tactic. That could be something we would like to try. Let me write about it if we do!.

My own childhood memories of that quality are not the same
3/5

Considering how durable materials are now, I guess it makes sense that the game I loved so much all those years ago would be made with less durable materials, and I would expect that safety precautions would be taken, but this version was even unplayable. Despite all of my conflicts, I really enjoyed this game and was eager to tell the kids about it. Upon closer examination, I found that the product was very flimsy and inferior in Because they were so thin, it was hard or impossible to poke through them. Some of the nails poked through so loosely that they would fall out and have to be replaced. As you took forever to get them all in, some of them poked through. Even when the game was set up, there were some marbles that was randomly falling through, since the marbles were so much heavier than the sticks. Plastic towers are so flimsy that turning them caused more marbles to fall through during each turn. There is just no way to use it. I was able to get a refund from Amazon. It would have been best to throw it in the trash if I had not been able to return it.
