The game was a major hit with my nephews (6 and 12 years old). It was so much fun that they put away the new laptops they received from their parents for Christmas and sat on the floor for hours. When I came across this checker set, I knew I had to have it. Luckily, my husband and daughter also have a rug checker game set up at our Cracker Barrel diner, so when I saw this one, I knew I had to have one of those rug sets that is decently sized, and it has large checkers pieces. They set it up and play it on the living room floor, and they spend hours playing it. I've had a ton of family game nights on the rug with it, and they love it. My honest opinion is that I dislike this but I can fix it and use it so I'll rate it a three. I was very impressed with the presentation of the item as it was packaged and boxed perfectly. However, that is all I can say about I laugh out loud at the threading around the board. I agree that it can be fixed, but why would I agree to this for 15 bucks? My favorite rug is the Jumbo Checker one. So far, we've only used it a few times, but it seems to be holding up well. Since there is only one stitch around the borders, I don't know if the ends will fray over time. The product is packaged in a plastic bag with instructions on how to use There are directions on the map and suggested games, though I wish it came in a more durable bag that can't be destroyed if it gets dropped. A Ziploc bag with pieces for the game is inside a half game box. Not wrapping the checker blanket around it prevents it from coming apart easily. The game pieces will fall out if the half box isn't carefully closed. Those directions are on the plastic bag, and if the bag is torn, they are easily lost. If you want to use the plastic to see directions, I recommend putting it in a more durable bag and storing it folded up. I find it to be very enjoyable. However, it should have come in a box or bag that would be more durable.
