If there was an African-American option, I'd buy two for my girls. And no, I'm not using a sharpie to draw a brown face on the doll, as one commenter suggested;
It has a polished metal exterior, but the inside under the velvet isn't cardboard; it's stiff but slightly flexible, so I'd guess particle or a thin strip of wood. I paid $60 at Walmart for a similar-looking jewelry box. up to 00 This is the most cost-effective option.
I purchased this Lenox music box for my older granddaughter about ten years ago. They engraved her name on the top of the package at the time before sending it. It's a lovely souvenir. However, keep in mind that it has tarnished a little over time. She keeps it in the top of her closet now that she's 17. 😢
It was given to my granddaughter as a present, and yes, it has storage. beneath the surface

The music box was exactly what I had hoped for. I was able to have my niece's name engraved on the front, and the quality is excellent. I'm so glad I went ahead and bought it. To dispel any doubts about the quality of the product. I attempted to photograph things up close; The fabric appears to be of good quality, and the hinges appear to be of good quality as well. This music box, I believe, will bring joy to any young girl! I'd buy it again if the opportunity arose.
I used to love these as a kid, so I was overjoyed when I was able to get one for my niece. Fun fact: When my now-fiance discovered how much I loved these as a kid and that I had never had one before, he proposed to me. One of these held the ring. It's a little cheesy, but it's a lot of fun.
This box had a beautiful finish. It was lovely and seemed to be of high quality. However, after sitting on a shelf for a few months, the inside of it warped and now won't close. Because I was unable to contact the seller, I am writing a review. It was never in contact with any liquids. The pink lining inside bulges out as seen in the photos. It's like foam that has expanded and won't return to its original shape.
This is something I bought for my granddaughter, and she adores it. It arrived on time and in good condition. For the ballerina, there is a wind-up on the back. The music is perfect, and the dancing ballerina is fantastic. I wasn't expecting it to be of such high quality. I looked around and all I found were cheap plastic jewelry boxes, and I couldn't find a single dancing ballerina. I highly recommend it if you want high quality and a lovely, elegant jewelry box.
Unlike the previous ballerina jewelry box I ordered (and returned), this Lenox box is stunning! This is a jewelry box that will last through my niece's adolescence. The quilted design is delicate and lovely, especially with the polished hearts. It would be simple to engrave the large hearts on the front and top of the card. The music is clear, and the twirling ballerina is still as enthralling as it was when I was a kid. This is a high-quality jewelry box that cost less than half of what Lenox advertised on the box's price tag. It was well worth the money! I'm so excited to give this to my 6-year-old niece this week for her birthday! A few photos have been included. The video does not appear to be uploading:.
Although it appears to be of good quality, it is of poor. The pink mirror insert on the box's lid has bowed, and the music box no longer closes.
So it's been a little more than a year since she got it. We first noticed the music stopping after a short period of time about three months ago. We eventually settle on simply tapping the ballerina in order to hear some of the music. She's in a lot of pain and wants me to get her a new one as soon as possible. I'm disappointed because, while this box is very attractive and ideal for a young child who enjoys ballerinas, it is quite small. For the money spent, I believe it should have lasted a lot longer. I'm the one who turns it off at night, not my granddaughter, so I know I'm not doing anything wrong. it's being wound I'll try contacting Lenox to see if there's a warranty, but based on other reviews, I doubt they'll be very helpful.
I bought one for my oldest daughter when she was about 9 years old, and it still works today because she is very careful with it and only touches it on rare occasions. It primarily serves as decoration on her dresser. When I ordered this for my new baby so that they could have matching jewelry boxes, it did not play the music when it arrived. I'm not sure if it had been exposed to moisture or if it had been used and wound too tightly, but it was a major letdown. Not only that, but the lid is warped and won't close completely. I attempted to contact them in the hopes of exchanging it, but I never received a response. I will never buy from this store again because these types of items should be thoroughly inspected before being shipped.
