Questions & Answers

My children are 11 years old, 9 years old, and 6 years old. Do you think they'd be able to keep up with the game's mechanics without becoming bored?

Our children are five (not yet reading), seven, and nine years old. It is extremely popular among them. The 5-year-old usually wanders away, but this time he chooses someone to "play with," and we read the cards to him so he can participate. The kids, aged 7 and 9, are completely enthralled! We also play a lot of games, and they quickly picked up on the game mechanics.

Is this a different game than Unstable Unicorns, or is it the same game with the same rules and gameplay?

Expansion rules are similar. There are multiple ways to win (assemble a complete party or slay a large number of monsters). The Neigh cards have been replaced by challenge cards. You now have a chance to win the challenge (by rolling the dice). Unicorns aren't the only ones! Each class is represented by a different animal (bears, dogs, cats, unicorns, and so on). If you like Unstable Unicorns, you'll love this book!

What exactly does it mean to "pull a card?" Do you keep the card you just pulled, throw it away, or return it to the player?

Pulling a card from another player's hand and placing it in your own is known as pulling. Take a card from another player's party (on the table) and steal it.

Is it possible to extend the game by killing six monsters? Is this something you can do?

This is made possible by the expansion pack.

The game is VERY SHORT and ends far too soon
3/5

I like the concept of this game, but the games are too short: you must either slay three monsters or have one of each class to win. You get three actions per turn. This is what it means. In just three turns, someone could win. This is a game that I've played with my family, and it always ends in less than 5 minutes. There's nothing like a 15-minute workout. It promotes the number 30. The artwork is adorable, but the strategy is lacking.

Even for a noob like me, this is a fantastic game
5/5

Just a few ideas:

- Open- ended. On your turn, you have the option of using your action points in a variety of ways, which I think is fantastic.

- It has a lot of replayability. There are enough party leaders, monsters, spells, and items to keep the games interesting.

- It's not too difficult to learn. I'll admit that getting used to all the variables took some time. Once you've made the necessary adjustments, the game will flow smoothly and you'll be able to see all of the options available to you.

- In just one sitting, the games can be completed.

- This is probably not for you if you want something simple, quick, and/or straightforward.

I had high hopes for this
3/5

I expected to enjoy this game more than I did because it was created by the same people who created Unstable Unicorns. To win, you must either kill three monsters or collect all seven members of your party, including your party leader. Each member of the party should be from a different social class. My issue with this game is that if you only kill one monster per turn, it can be over too quickly. Before a monster can be attacked, certain party member requirements must be met, but many monsters can be attacked by any class, defeating the purpose. To make the game more playable, my wife and I agreed on a house rule that said you had to collect all of your party members and kill three monsters in order to win. I was also not a fan of the dice game. It's awful when you've planned out a strategy only to have it derailed by a bad roll.

Evenings of family fun! We were huge fans of unstable unicorns, so picking this up as soon as it was released was a no-brainer! It was shipped and arrived in two days, thanks to Prime shipping! I'm looking forward to the expansion as well! Our four-year-old was the winner, and he has been bragging about it ever since

It has a high replay value
5/5

It's a lot of fun to play this game. If you enjoy strategy games such as Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, or MTG, this is the game for you. Pokemon, how I love you. Then you'll recognize some of the words used in Here To Slay in this game. It may appear intimidating and overwhelming when reading the rules, but once you've read them all, it won't be. They also provide 6 cards with instructions on how to play the game for each player if you need assistance remembering things. Because you never know what cards you'll get or how the game will turn out, the strategy you use each time you play this game may differ from the previous one. There are so many different cards with different abilities that the game feels new every time you play it. Overall, this is a MUST-HAVE game. br>br>The only con I can think of is that, because there are so many cards to draw and potentially get, picking certain Party Leaders may result in you never being able to use the Party Leader's abilities in some games.

It's a simple game to pick up and play, and it's a lot of fun to I bought this game around the time it was released and have been playing it for about a month
5/5

It's a hit with the whole family, and my 7-year-old even picked up on the basics. We were initially perplexed (we let each hero activate their power when they were placed on the ground, but the game ended far too quickly this way). As simple as this game is, the title "Slay" probably refers to each other more, because getting a hero of each class seemed to be the preferred route because it only required playing cards at the right time, but after a few rounds, we quickly discovered that focusing on attacking each other and preventing this was a key part of the game-- The modifiers and items started to make more sense at that point. You can also go online and create your own Hero Card to begin the game with, but be aware that some of the custom Hero Cards have more powerful abilities than the base/default heroes available. It's simple and straightforward to learn. (Here's an idea: When you first open the box, shuffle the cards as much as you can because they are sectioned together and you might end up drawing certain items, cards in a row. ).

This is an excellent game
5/5

I bought this game for my mother because she owns and enjoys "Unstable Unicorns," so I had to get it for her when it was released. br>It's an easy game to pick up, and she enjoys the fact that it can accommodate up to six players. It's a fantastic family game that we'd happily play again and again. br>One of the appealing aspects is that the game can be won in two different ways. You can either slay three monsters or collect all six classes in your party (your party leader counts as one of the classes, so you already have one of the classes), which gives you a better chance of winning the game if you're having trouble slaying monsters. I like the fact that when you play a hero card and want to use its ability, you have to roll to do so. Being able to use abilities that are more "powerful" than others becomes more difficult. br>Overall, the game is fantastic, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys fantasy games with unstable unicorns.

To begin with, there's fantastic art. This game was a hit when I introduced it to a group of friends during a mini game night. It was our first time playing it, and we all got into it right away.
