The book is extremely small, but it contains a lot of interesting details. When compared to a standard 12-ounce soda can, this is how tall it is. For a date night in, my boyfriend and I each bought our own home.
Our children have never seen a Harry Potter film or read a Harry Potter book, but they have picked up on the basics from their peers and pop culture in general. br>br>Their current Lego project is Magic High School, which includes dorms, classes, and magical tests, so this set was a natural fit. br>br>It's cleverly designed to fold up into a book for easy transport and storage, and it's built according to the instructions. It includes book shelves, tables, desks, and other pieces that can be used to build Lego classrooms and other environments. One of my daughters' complaints is that it makes use of Lego's block-based system. Minifigs, rather than the cuter Lego Friends figures, are a good example. Even if your child isn't a Harry Potter fan, this set is fantastic.
This set is fantastic! It's a fantastic idea and a great deal of fun. The mini figures do not fit inside the book when closed, and the book does not snap shut, which are two things Lego could improve on. I use a rubber band to secure it, but for the price, they could have figured it out.
This set of classrooms was a big hit with my daughter. Seta, on the other hand, I expected to be a little larger. br>The only thing I didn't like about Amazon delivery was the packaging. It came in a plastic bubbled bag, and the set I ordered as a gift arrived in pretty bad shape in terms of the box, so that was a major disappointment. If we'd ordered it for ourselves, I wouldn't mind as much, but as a gift, it'll be a little unattractive.
The book's border is missing from both bags 1 and 2, which is very frustrating because even if I put everything else together (assuming there aren't any other missing pieces), how am I going to put it together as a closed book/classroom? I'm hoping my LEGO set for the charms class isn't as disappointing.
The attention to detail is incredible. & Having storage in a "book" is unusual.
This set in general appeals to me. It has a nice appearance and the ability to close like a book is fantastic. Because some of the pieces can be a little confusing, I'd recommend making it with an adult or for older builders.
However, because I have old hands, it can be frustrating because some of the small pieces are difficult to fit together when your hands shake as much as mine do. Still. The fact that the final product was worthy of my collection was a major accomplishment for me. They aren't toys at this point in my life; they are works of art intended for display only.
