This is an ideal gift for preschoolers

During our morning school times, I have been using this item with my three and five year old. In fact, the older children (7,9, 11) are interested in it too. Our calendar skills are improving because you are helping us learn them. I wouldn't give it to my rough and tumble 3 year old without supervision, since it is not very durable. It would be very easy for her to break off her moving pieces if she was.
