Questions & Answers

Is the movement of the hands coordinated to move them together or to move them separately? (Can you move each independently?) ?

Whenever the minute hand is moved, the hour hand also It is impossible to move the hour hand unless the minute hand moves. As well as the knob, there is a screw in the back.

Is there a smooth movement between the hands?

While I am not aware of the clock the other person has, my 12" clock has the PER 2094 as its product number, and the hands On my clock, however, they are not nicely aligned, and you cannot change the alignment because your hands cannot be moved independently. Additionally, I have owned a Judy clock in the past, and I recommend it over this one. Although the hands move together, it is better quality because the individual hands can be moved independently, if the alignment is

Is it possible to move the minute hand both clockwise and counterclockwise?

Yes, I agree! It is possible to move the minute hand both clockwise and counterclockwise on our Big Time Learning Clock.

Could you tell me what you mean by setting a time for when you want them to act? I know it doesn't run on its own, but how does it do it?

When you want them to pick up their toys, tell them to do the following If you set it for 7 on 30 you will receive After that, they look at the real clock to see what time it is.

The look of the clock is great, however it has flaws
3/5

Colors are bright, and the numbers are large and easy to read. Despite this, the hour hand can neither be manually moved nor turned. To move the hands, you need to turn the knob on the back or turn the minute hand. However, when the minute hand is more than 5 minutes past the hour, the hour hand moves to the next hour. The hour/short hand doesn't move between hours/numbers until the long/minute hand is half past the hour, which is confusing for children who are learning to read the clock and tell time. I was always told and have always been told this. if the placement of the hands was correct, this product would have a 5 star rating.

It was a very disappointing experience
3/5

It will remain in my collection, but I am extremely disappointed in it. The Learning Resource clock was a disappointment to me even though I love their products. Although she will not be able to turn the hands with the knob on the back of this clock, my kindergartener should be able to tell the time with it. My hands have to go in front to turn because it is so hard to turn. In my mind, I wanted to be able to turn the clock slowly from the rear and have her tell me the time from there. From now on, I have to rotate the hands from front to back. When I thought I would be able to change the hour hand at 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock without going around 6 times, I really believed that was true. As well as being thin, it is extremely light. had it set up on my kitchen table and the sun was shining through the back, so I had to elevate it out of the sun in order to Thickness was not what I had expected. In addition, I am worried about the thin hands breaking if they are used too much. To be very careful, I'll have to tell my kindergartener. Originally, I had considered buying one for her class, but I am thinking of passing due to the fact that it probably wouldn't hold up with all of.

Getting used to telling time
4/5

Purchased to use in home This aid is for a 6 year old who is learning to tell the time with analog signals. You can't advance the hour hand by yourself. For the minute hand to correctly hit the hour, it must be moved around. I purchased this for my daughter as a drill to remember the time, but it's taking us longer (haha) than we anticipated to set up since I have to turn the minute hand on the clock to get the proper time (e. Here is a list of the The math for 40 + 5 is The minute hand is moving back and forth because the hour hand cannot move without the minutes). Planned our lesson, but had to adjust it. This is a sturdy and large item, which I appreciate. The paper clocks he had at home proved less accurate than the ones we made with his help. I was ripped off by the curriculum at school. As soon as we finish with this, we will donate it to the local library You can probably expect it to last quite some time.

I had to send it back to the manufacturer - It's so confusing! My soon to be third-grader was confused by the hour hand because it does not always land in the correct position It was a sturdy clock, but I decided to return it because it wasn't consistent with when the hour hand would be in the correct position
3/5

You will see the following when you attempt When the hour hand is positioned at 55 on the clock, the clock does not allow it to land closer to the number ten, (in between the 10 and 11), but it lands exclusively to the top of the number 11, not in between, especially not while the number 10 is displayed. As we were reviewing with her brother, this was confusing to her since it was not how she initially learned to tell time. Fortunately, she does recognize to tell time fairly well, but she was confused because that is not how she originally learned it.

The size and quality are both great
4/5

My son was able to tell time very quickly on an analog clock thanks to your help. When the analog clocks on paper are printed, my son struggles to tell the time. By doing this, he could grasp the material in a short period of time. Sometime, a tangible stimulus is just what you need to get the message across. If I have another baby, I'll hold onto this when he learns how to tell time. I love how big and sturdy While a smaller version would have probably worked too, the larger one is so much better to look at The purchase was a good one. *** Yes, you are right. Throughout the day, wind blows. The way clocks work is that way. It is interesting that he can see all the positions the little hand will be at different times during the day.

IMPORTANT - THIS IS NOT A TRUE CLOCK This clock is only used as an example to teach how a clock keeps time nowhere in the description does it say the clock is not actually While I can envision the value of using a fake clock to teach time, I needed a real clock that would be easy to read for children

I would not recommend it
3/5

It was important to me that I loved the It is a great size, and I can easily read it. Although the hidden gear that is supposed to maintain correct hour and minute relationships is supposed to, it hasn't worked after only a few uses. The clock is really difficult to use because of this. While I typically love the Learning Resources brand, I wish I had done more research before making my purchase.

This is a great idea
4/5

The mechanism is a bit inaccurate. This is a great idea. I gave it to my son and he hid it in his room from his sister because of how much he liked it. The cons are There are a few slight inaccuracies in this mechanism, for example. For some hours, the hour hand does not point exactly where it should. I used this as an opportunity to emphasize that the important thing is to first examine where the hour hand is approximately pointing. However, I would still like to see a clock that doesn't have this problem.
