Tipping hasn't been a problem, but if you're worried, you can weigh it down on the inside. He enjoys playing with it, but keep an eye on them when they are using the hammer! This was an excellent buy.
Hape toys are made in our own factory in Ningbo, China. Because we own and operate the factory, we have complete control over every aspect of the manufacturing process, from sourcing renewable resources to inspecting the finished product. An independent testing facility inspects all Hape toys for safety and ensures that they meet or exceed ASTM standards.
It arrived in three parts for us. The top of the cube (green board with wire maze), the rest of the cube, and a divider that goes inside the cube to keep the shapes from getting stuck. Super easy to assemble; the wire maze was packaged upside down inside the cube; pull that out, then insert the divider in the slots, then screw the top wire maze with the screws in the pre-drilled holes. holes that have been drilled

At the time, he couldn't do much with it, but he enjoyed looking at it and watching me spin the hive or drop the balls through the maze. He gradually gained the ability to use various parts. He began by spinning the hive and then moved on to the shape sorter's knob. He moved the animals on the tracks a short time later. He is now 11 months old and enjoys pulling up on it, as well as using the hammer and playing with the balls. I believe the bead maze at the top was one of the factors that prompted him to begin pulling himself to his feet; he still has room to improve by using the shape sorter and ball maze in a more traditional manner, but he is still enjoying it six months later. br>br>The minimal assembly required was simple to complete and took only a few minutes. In addition, despite extensive daily use and abuse, particularly from the included hammer, there is no paint chipping or anything like that. This is a big hit with both my son and his playgroup friends. Because it was such a hit, one mother went out and bought it. We could have waited until around 7 p. m. if we had wanted to. Although 8 months is a realistic time frame, we were able to find ways to use it even earlier. Because the small shapes are too small, I've put them away and won't bring them out until he's a year old. br>br>I can see this being well-loved for a long time, which is important when it comes to baby/toddler toys. We spent the same amount on his jumper when he was six months old, and it has already been put away, whereas we have had this for a longer time and he is still wearing it a lot. This purchase has made me extremely happy. Hape toys appear to be a hit in our house. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> br>Even though my son is 17 months old, he still uses it on a daily basis. They enjoy it as well when we have other babies and toddlers over. We've given him all of the shapes for the sorter, and he's able to fit the majority of them into the proper holes. He is still troubled by the plus sign shape and the heart. I appreciate the fact that he continues to use and benefit from it. It's not going anywhere anytime soon, in my opinion! UPDATED: br>br>NEXT UPDATED: br>br>NEXT UPDATED: br>Now that my son is 28 months old, he still plays with it on a daily basis. This toy, out of all the ones I've bought for him, has the most "legs" in the sense that he's spent the most time playing with it over the longest period of time, and it still looks brand new! Despite the fact that he is capable of performing all of these activities, the variety of challenges/activities keeps him interested.
br>br>First and foremost, there is a minor problem. When the red wire was inserted into the hole at its lowest point, the wooden beads on the red wire would make contact with the green top of the cube. I was able to gently but firmly bend it back into the hole's center. The issue has been resolved. br>br>Minor problem 2 - The three balls that get hammered down have had issues since the beginning, and they don't always make it down the track by themselves. The balls have become stuck on two occasions. The yellow ball is the one that gets stuck the most. The issue is that (a) the balls' diameters aren't uniform, and (b) the diameter of the ball isn't always large enough to make it to the dropping point. Or (b) the balls are too far away from the tracks. This is something we can live with. If anything, we'll just point out that there's another way to use this feature. br>br>Major problem - When arranging the shapes (square, triangle, heart, etc. ), keep in mind that the shapes (square, triangle, heart, etc. ) should They fall straight to the bottom after falling into the holes. The red-knuckled mechanism is broken. The rope connecting the red knob to the dowel on the inside of the cube appears to be too short, as the dowel is supposed to keep the shapes from falling when in their rest position. However, this configuration (on ours) equates to leaving the knob in the release position at all times. By the way, the thin wooden backing board was installed properly - Before connecting the top of the cube, feed it through the slots. This one is aggravating because getting it to work will take more effort than a quick fix. br>br>For the price of this activity cube, I would have expected a little more quality control. At the very least, test each feature once to ensure that the product works properly! My Minor issue 1 and my Major issue would have been resolved as a result.
This activity cube is adorable, and I adore it. This is exactly what I was looking for: a non-toxic wooden toy that my almost 9-month-old loved. He immediately began playing with the balls' sides and stands with the activity cube in his hand. On carpet, it's extremely durable, and on the floor, it's acceptable. It's a huge relief, because now that he climbs on everything and stands, I'm always worried about things falling on top of him. It is something I would strongly suggest. Any child would appreciate it as a gift.
