These were purchased as an "add-on" gift to accompany another purchase. Do you ever notice how at every family gathering or kid's party, there's always that one strange item that everyone raves about? A few weeks ago, these were a huge hit at a 9-year-old's birthday party. And, because it was a family gathering, children of all ages joined in the plane-making fun. I'm glad I took a chance on these Flying Dragons because it's always fun to see kids of all ages get excited about something they can build/create and then play with afterwards. I enjoy watching the wheels turn when a gift piques someone's interest.
I debated whether or not to buy this book before doing so, but I am very pleased with it. The illustrations are vibrant, and each dragon has its own page of information (what distinguishes it from the others). dragon-related tidbits) The only issue (which isn't a complaint) is that the baby dragons must be cut out (whereas the large dragons punch out). Some of the details are too fine for children to understand.
This was a present for my 9-year-old daughter. She is enthralled by this kit because she is a huge fan of dragons. br>To keep things interesting, we've decided to limit it to one dragon per day. She'll be able to punch/cut them out and put them together by herself - Then, because they travel so far, take them outside! br>I adore the book about the various "species" of dragons that has her asking(! ) in order to read - and doing so with focus (when reading time is usually a challenge). She made one for each of her siblings, who named them after the dragon "type's" specialties. br>I was hesitant to purchase it at first, but I'm glad I did!.
That seemed excessively high for a book of paper to me. However, I found it on Amazon for a fraction of the price and am ecstatic. This will be a gift for my cousin, who is ten years old. When I first saw it in stores, I wondered where it had been all my life. The kit makes enough dragons for 12 people, which I think is ideal, and each dragon costs $1. They're pretty tough, and they'll probably handle more than ten flies in the house. I believe it would be more interesting to create and display the dragons in some way. I saw a Harry Potter one that looked almost identical and was immediately smitten. Great purchase at a great price. Excellent gift idea.
My kids had so much fun making the dragons that they finished them all in one sitting. How to make paper dragons is very creative; I like the thicker weight paper and the printed graphics are fantastic. They had no trouble removing them from the cutouts, which was a nice touch for younger kids. I would buy this item again as a gift. I like that they can make something with their hands, and it has inspired them to make something of their own. All of this was accomplished without the use of a phone, tablet, or other electronic device.
I assisted her in creating the first dragon because she is only six years old. The instructions were excellent, but separating the tape pieces from the backing sheet proved to be the most difficult part. br>br>Over the last two days, the mountain dragon has flown countless times, the majority of which have ended in a crash into a distant wall. Daughter learned how to straighten him out and tweak his tail to keep him from nosediving with a little coaching. Cousins have fought over him, dad has sat on him, and he is otherwise adored. He appears to be battered, but he is still capable of catching some air. br>br>The stories are beautifully illustrated and have a non-fiction feel to them. fiction. They are almost as much a favorite of my daughter's as "training" her flying dragon. This is one of those books that I can't say enough good things about.
Before even putting together the first one, we spent the first half hour reading about dragons. The plot is original and enjoyable to read on its own! This is a fantastic present, but make sure you read it thoroughly. Making flying dragons isn't all there is to it. Spending time with a curious child is such a wonderful opportunity! This is an excellent present.
I bought it for my almost-13-year-old daughter. year old son, because he enjoys dragons and has previously enjoyed flying paper airplanes. I was hoping he hadn't outgrown this kind of thing yet, because he can be picky about how he spends his time and what he enjoys. For hours, he's been excited about it. What he really likes is how the book's creators chose the characteristics, particularly the flight characteristics, to match the type of dragon. He's been showing me how they each fly, and he's spent some time explaining why he likes them so much, as well as comparing and contrasting flight characteristics (while flying them). He likes, for example, how the Mountain Dragon flies in a majestic manner, as one would expect from a dragon of that type. That was his exact phrase. This book also has an interesting text that details information about the dragons - which is a nice added bonus. Their background, size, diet, geographical location, and so on. My son enjoys reading, but he does not read every day at home. That was a nice bonus, because he did an excellent job on this one.
