I'm a "newbie" when it comes to colored pencils, and I've never blended colors before. These were purchased with the intention of using them in adult coloring books. I don't have the financial means to invest in expensive learning alternatives. I don't think I'll be using colored pencils very often in the future, so these appear to be a good price-to-quality ratio. br>br>My first impression is that this collection could benefit from a few more purples and greens. The reds and oranges appear to be in abundance. Teal, aqua, and sea-blue are just a few examples of green-blues. There are only a few truly green colors, such as green, blue, and so on. The reds are also more orange, with only one true "red" in the bunch. I would have gladly accepted purple or green in exchange for the two metallic colors (three if you count the Bronze Yellow). Pro- There will be no dupes among the 50 colors you receive. br>br>I've included some photos of my swatch page for this brand; please keep in mind that monitor colors vary, so the colors may not appear as vibrant as they are in real life. Swatched on plain "printer" paper rather than cardstock or high-quality paper. The same amount of pressure is used to color each box. Each box has a single layer of color in the top third. There are two layers of color in the middle third. There are three layers in the bottom third. The left side isn't blended, but the right side is using a Prisma colorless pencil to blend it. Also included is a quick coloring page created with only these pencils and minimal blending. br>br>I believe these will suffice for my needs; however, true "artists" seeking blend-ability should look elsewhere. They are unlikely to be compatible with highly pigmented pencils. They are, in my opinion, best suited for students or learners who cannot afford to pay for high-quality materials. brand names that are reasonably priced "You get what you pay for" certainly applies in this case.
A few months ago, I began coloring in adult coloring books. And I decided to try out the Crayola 100 pack because I needed more colors and hoped they would be better than the ones I already had. br> I watched some tutorials on how to use them, such as how to blend two colors (as I did on the flower with the colors sun yellow and daffodil) by starting with a dark color and then going over the entire thing with a light color. Additionally, circular and oval motions are used. Wow, these are fantastic for what they are intended to be used for. I wish I'd gotten them earlier. My pages are crisp and clean, rather than blotchy and smudge-ridden, as they were with my softer pencils. The Crayola pencils glide on smoothly and do not smear. I don't have to press as hard because they have a lot of pigment, and I'm finding that I'm coloring faster because they're easier on my hands. Maybe it's because they stay put instead of sliding all over the place like my other pencils. br>br> There are a lot of different colors in the 100 pack. Skin tones, pinks, and purples are all represented in this collection. These are excellent color pencils for adult coloring books at a reasonable price.
These colored pencils have an average color payoff; they aren't "Vibrant" or spectacular. Crayola colored pencils are just like any other. To get a decent color, you'll need to go over the area several times and apply more pressure. It's not only inconvenient, but it's also time-consuming. I'm definitely going to buy something else.
These come in a variety of colors and are durable (as long as your kids don't get their hands on them, that is!). It's always a good idea for a mom to set aside time to unwind, color, and zone out with a good cup of coffee or your favorite beverage. Thank you, mothers (or fathers, or whoever)! br>br>These get a 5 out of 5 from me! Thank you for taking the time to read my review and give it a star rating!.
If you're looking for a good set of colored pencils, this is not the set for you. These pencils are of poor quality (I understand the price is low, but it is still a waste of money). They lack vibrant color (pigments), and some of my pencils are missing parts of their bodies (chip out) and are bent, making it difficult to sharpen them. This is not a purchase that I would recommend. br>The following are some of my favorite things:.
Update: It's been a few weeks, and I'm still having trouble sharpening them. I have to keep sharpening them because the tip keeps falling out. I'll stick to the regular box next time and hope it works out better! These are fantastic! br>br> When I'm feeling stressed and need a mental break, I color. There are so many lovely colors to choose from. When I'm done with this box, I'll definitely buy some more.
These pencils were purchased so that I could have a variety of colors while working on my genealogy, as well as to use with coloring books. It comes in a hundred different colors, which are displayed on the box's back and top. The problem is that instead of 100 different colors, I received duplicates of 50 of them, which is a huge disappointment in Crayola's marketing.
