I'm not sure you comprehend what this actually does, based on your question. This will only be useful if you have extremely long cable runs; the 16 channel Balun should be placed near the DVR. Then you'd run four ethernet Cat6 cables to each camera location. Decide where your cameras will be mounted, then group the cameras into groups of 4 or 8, run one or two Ethernet cables to each group, and install either a 4 channel or an 8 channel Balun to those groups. If you have a group of more than four but less than eight cameras, you will still need an eight channel Balun. The goal is to use as little coaxial cable as possible. Another advantage is that you can place a power supply near each group of cameras, removing the need for the DVR to have its own power source. When you're finished, the installation will be much cleaner.

Any camera that uses baluns will work, including ahd, tvi, and any other camera that uses baluns. It's about the same size as a small single balun, only bigger, and it doesn't even require power.
