It isn't a voltage regulator that lowers the voltage. It's supposed to reduce noise and make it easier to use the balancing lead to tap on the battery.

I've used the Fatshark filter before for FPV and it works great. If you want to use the same battery, but only use the balance plug, they're ideal. They'll run in groups of two and three. They filter the video on the 4s, giving you a nice clean view.
It saved me a lot of soldering time and was easy to install. Change a camera or a vtx is a simple upgrade, and it runs on a 2 to 4s balance plug.
With Fatshark equipment, you can just plug and play. A different camera with a standard receiver connection is what I'm using. I had to switch to a female servo lead because the connector was male. Fatshark is known for using proprietary connections to persuade users to purchase their equipment.
It's incredibly simple to power anything from your LiPo battery's balance port. It also comes with a built-in filter for added convenience. These are what I use on all of my FPV models.
It's very simple to connect. Using the balance plug that came with the drone battery. A second battery isn't required. br>Use a 2s, 3s, or 4s plug.
