This is something I do not recommend purchasing. Before I moved on campus, I purchased it a few months ago. I've always felt compelled to put it to the test and see how well it works. I aimed it at the bushes two nights ago, slid my thumb under the guard, and pulled the trigger- There was nothing that came out of my mouth. I tried again, and again, and again, in a state of shock. Nothing. The bottle finally manages a pitiful little spurt of spray after numerous attempts. To say the least, I'm disappointed; if I hadn't tried it out first, and if I had needed to use it, things would not have gone well. I'm not pleased with myself.
I bought this for my girlfriend, and she opened the package to inspect it, then set it down, but not before touching her eye and lighting her up! It's possible that some of the product was on the device itself. It passed through her hands and into her eye! It was a bad situation because her eye was swollen up red and on fire. Better precautions should be taken by the manufacturer. As a result, I'm going to give you a one-star rating.
Before you open the package, examine it under a black light. As a result of receiving a faulty can that had leaked and dried to the can and its plastic case. Because I licked my lips after touching them, I now have firsthand experience with how mace feels on my face, eyes, hands, and in my mouth. I took out my black light flashlight and shone it on my face, revealing the ultraviolet dye on my hands and face. The black light revealed uv dye all over the can and case, making it impossible to see dried mace without it. This item is fantastic. I only had a brief encounter with the dried mace, and oh my goodness! Anyone sprayed with this substance will be wailing for their mother while lying on the ground wailing in agony. Just a tip: if you accidentally get mace on your skin, rub it in with heavy cream, half and half, or buttermilk, let it sit for 30 seconds, then rub it off with paper towels. Do this several times and the pain will go away. If you don't have any fresh milk, you can substitute condensed sweetened milk from a can. I've purchased three different pepper sprays for various uses, and this is the first time I've encountered this problem, so I'm still inclined to recommend the product.
I keep mine attached to my keys and carry it around with me wherever I go. I feel a lot safer walking my dog by myself. I like that it has a safety cover over the release button so it doesn't spray into my purse or pocket by accident. I'm on my second one, and I'm really enjoying it. My sisters and I are going to order some.
My small dog was attacked by two larger dogs, and the attack has had a long-term impact on her. Following the attack, I purchased this item from a local vendor. It was unfortunately confiscated at the airport; however, it should always be included in your check-ins. I got this one for a lot less money, and now I'm confident that I can keep both my dog and myself safe on walks.
While on the phone with 911, I was able to spray the man, lock myself in the car, and drive to a safe location. br>br>I made it! It works!.
I try to use it by shaking the bottle first, but the liquid only comes out as a small amount of water, and when it falls down, there is no pressure.
This was purchased as a present for my girlfriend. She thought it was fantastic that I was thinking of her, and she decided to put it to the test by spraying it in my office. I coughed, and my eyes, as well as hers, welled up. We had to leave the office due to a scheduling conflict.
