Questions & Answers
The headlamps are manufactured in China and have passed stringent quality control tests.
It begins with the white light turned down to the lowest brightness setting. You advance to the next level by pressing the button once more. The shorter the battery life, the higher the brightness level; for red, hold the button down for a few seconds until the red turns on.
There is no lockout in my opinion. Because the button is so flat, it is unlikely to be pressed. You can also check by removing a battery.
I'm not sure, but I think I've gotten about eight hours of use on high so far. This, I'm sure, is highly dependent on the quality of your batteries. Cheaper store brand batteries typically have a lower milliamp rating than higher-end brands like Duracell and Energizer.

UPDATE. Amazing is still the case! br>After 9 months of use, see videobr>br>These lights are fantastic. I use this as a light in some of my dimly lit barns and goat huts/ paddocks, as well as a light to walk late at night to check on animals during kidding season as a farmer and specifically goat breeder. I've now purchased two sets, one of which I keep in my wife's car in case of an emergency or breakdown, so she has an extra light and a flashing light for total emergencies. br>br>I also use it when doing plumbing or HVAC work, crawling around dark areas, underneath sinks, or crawling through crawl spaces. br>br>So far, the batteries haven't lasted more than a few hours without dimming, and the cost has been close to nothing. I adore these and will most likely purchase three more sets because they are convenient and inexpensive enough to keep in your car, garage, basement, or barn, as well as inside your home. These are fantastic! br>br>9-month update***
Still amazing, and I can't say enough good things about the quality and price. Then swivel up and down clicks and functions perfectly.
I initially assumed I had received faulty headlamps because the night mode was not visible. After some tinkering with them, I discovered that a long press of the button switched it to night mode. These are really cool and have a lot of features, including strobe on both the night red lights and the bright white light for daytime, which is so bright it looks like it could burn like a magnifying glass under the sun, but I haven't seen it burn anything yet, so don't worry about that. Only time will tell how long the batteries last, but dimmer modes are expected to last longer than brighter modes. In general, these are excellent. built and performs better than my other, more expensive brand of spelunking equipment. These lights have made me very happy.
Because it gets dark so early in the winter, it's usually best to set up a travel trailer in the dark. Using a flashlight works, but it comes with its own set of problems as you try to hold the light while also connecting power, water, and other things. So, I wanted to get a light-weight, easy-to-use headlamp to free up my hands. That's why I purchased this item, and here's what I discovered when I got it. 1. br>br> The device comes with no batteries (as stated in the advertisement) and no instructions on how to change the light from white to red. On the box, there's a picture that shows what options are available in each, but no instructions on how to switch between them. Turn on the light and then press and hold the switch button to answer that question. After that, the light will change from one color to the other. To return to the previous state, repeat the process. Turn on the light and then press and hold the button until the light turns off. You'll have to fiddle around with the switch a little to figure out how to change the settings. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br The white light is extremely bright, whereas the red light is not. Because the red light is meant to preserve your night vision, it's odd that it also has an SOS function! This function is not available in white light, which can be seen from a much greater distance than red light. 3. br>br>4. br>br>5. br>br>6. The light is securely held in place by the headband, which is easily adjustable. The three AAA batteries required for this aren't too heavy, so they won't be an issue. Expect 3 hours of light before the batteries need to be replaced. This is acceptable, but not exceptional, and I am confident that this is due to the small batteries! 4. br>br> The light can be adjusted up and down with detents to keep it in the desired position. While wearing the unit, it is simple to adjust with one hand. br>br>This light is ideal for my needs because they are only used for a short period of time and aren't used very often. Because the package includes two lights, I labeled them with a color band and use one until the light dims, then switch to the other after removing the batteries so I don't forget. These are great for short nighttime walks, but only if you have extra batteries (3 AAA) with you. br>br>This is a product that I would recommend. After purchasing a bicycle light from them, I was given a discount coupon to use after purchasing this product. If you sign up for the company's newsletter, you'll occasionally receive offers for discounts on other products they sell.
REVIEW THAT HAS BEEN EDITED: br>br>Today, I received an email from the company requesting that I remove this review. br>br>Because the condition and facts about the product I received have not changed, I will leave the review in place. br>br>I'd be willing to admit that the company's manufacturing quality control failed on this unit, but I have no way of knowing because I'll never buy another. I'm currently using electrical tape to keep the battery compartment closed, and I'm only using the flashlight indoors as a backup. It's still useless for anything outside. br>br>I haven't asked for a replacement (why take the chance?). ) and I have not returned the product. br>br>END OF EDITbr>========================================================================================== How can this possibly be "water resistant," much less IPX5, if the battery compartment is so loosely closed and lacks any type of gasket or seal, and when batteries are inserted, they are heavy enough to pop the compartment open? It's all a load of hogwash. br>br>It does light up and has the advertised light modes, but that's all there is to it - As a result, I give it one star. Indoor use will most likely be fine, but only if the batteries don't fall out. br>br> Splurge on a Black Diamond Spot for a few extra bucks. Even at this low price, these are a squander of money.
