The two modes do not cycle at the same time. From off to off, it would take four pushes. It would take four pushes to turn it off again if you held it for three seconds.
An LED is not the same as the old tungsten bulbs. The old tungsten filament headlamp bulbs were rated for around 1000 hours of service, and you were lucky if you got anywhere close to that. LEDs are generally rated for 50,000 hours of service. The heat sink on an LED is the key to its long life. The longer the bulb lasts, the cooler the heat sink can keep it, as long as the power supply isn't flaky.
It's made to work with any *button-controlled* device. I didn't realize it until after I got it that it was a top* 18650 battery. Due to the fact that the majority of my 18650s are flat- top, it was very simple to bend the () contact slightly to achieve the flat-out look. To work with it, you need to be at the top of your game.
It has a light pattern that is shaped like a circle.

Because the system is larger than some of its competitors, keep in mind that there are smaller and lighter alternatives. br>br>For the size, you get a lot of bang for your buck. The lamps have a tremendous amount of brightness to them. Depending on if you want to see something three feet away or thirty feet away, the side and center lamps are focused differently. The battery indicator is extremely helpful. br>br> The fact that the batteries can be recharged using a USB cord (supplied) eliminates the need to remove them from the device to charge them. br>br>The battery life is fantastic. It's probably overkill to have two 18650 batteries, but it's nice not to have to worry about the charge. br>br>I mostly use it for electrical work when I need to turn off the lights so I can work on the wiring. It's ideal for that application. It's as bright as I'd like it to be, and the battery life is never an issue. br>br>The only real drawback is that the light gets very hot. You can easily burn yourself on it if you leave it on for too long. This, combined with the fact that much of the shell is made of metal, may not be the best option for clumsy individuals. br>br>It's a great deal for the price. This is a product you can trust.
Cross stitch is one of my favorite hobbies. I am currently 82 years old. I'm 5 hours into a massive project with about 150 stitches per inch. Stitching the length of my pinky takes four hours. Ottlite was out of the question because I needed good overhead lighting at a fair price. My 19-year-old son works in the automotive industry. Why not invest in a rechargeable headlamp? It not only has different brightness settings, but I'm also a sexy beast. And, perhaps most importantly, the light can be directed in any direction. Oh, and on weekends, I now work as a strobe light.
There are a few features that make this a particularly attractive light. One is that it has a charge circuit that shows red when it's charging and green when it's fully charged. I don't have any charge indications on the more expensive ones I have. The batteries I tested had a decent amount of capacity (though it's rare to find any that actually have the capacity advertised, especially when it's very high). It comes with a regular USB charge cable, rather than the barrel to USB cable that most come with, which can be difficult to replace if lost; however, if a cable isn't available, the batteries can be removed and charged in your favorite charger (the XTAR VC4 is a very nice charger for under $20). br>br>Instead of turning on with the headlight like most other lights, the red light in the back has a switch that turns it on. It also has a strobe setting (on and strobe are the two options). The red light in the back is usually just an extra drain, and I can see it being a liability at times, so it's great that it has its own switch. br>br>The third nice feature is that it has a little more intelligence than most other lights, in that if you hold the switch for the front lights down, it switches to a different set of lights. There are two standard light positions (high and low) in that group, as well as a red light and a red strobe. Red is a great way to help with night vision. It would be nice if the light had a smarter "switch" like some of my better lights, where you can pause and then turn the light off with a press instead of cycling through all modes, but I don't see this feature in very many lights. The dreaded strobe mode would be more tolerable as a result of this. br>br>In my opinion, the light is bright enough on high and has a good range of brightness, and the construction appears to be good for the price, but it is a very good buy for the money because of the extra features.
This light was bright enough to provide light for all five members of our hiking party during the hike, and it lasted about two hours at full brightness, which was all I needed. We got to the top, and when I turned it off, it was still going strong. The battery did not appear to warm up while in use, but given the brightness and price, I was concerned that this might not be the case all of the time. I'd hate for the battery pack to overheat and burst into flames while on my head in the middle of nowhere. However, for the price, this item far surpassed my expectations!.
The color is extremely vibrant and lasts a long time. This headlight is exactly as described, and for the price, it is incredible. Keep in mind that this thing literally creates daylight in your line of sight, and as a result, it heats up. Turn it off every now and then to allow it to cool down. Great for checking property in the middle of the night while camping or fishing. The brightness of this headlamp cannot be overstated.
I bought 6 of these and they are already super bright when turned on right out of the box. I've put them on the charger to fully charge them now. I'm looking forward to using them for nighttime bow fishing. I don't need anyone to hold a flashlight for me any longer. I'm going to use one on my head and the other on my wrist, which I've already tried and worked out exactly as I hoped. Thank you, but one box didn't have any batteries in it, but another box had two packs of batteries, so it all worked out in the end.
