Questions & Answers

How long will the batteries last if the lights are turned all the way up?

Using Duracell, it lasted 6 hours for me. The problem is that when the light is turned off, it slowly discharges the batteries, so don't keep them for months at a time or just in case of an emergency.

Is it possible to photograph at night with red light?

Only if your camera's exposure is set to around 4 seconds for a still shot taken up close with an f3 aperture. 5 lens. Even with a longer exposure time, the lumens are too low to get any illumination beyond 5 feet; however, if you have a camera that takes still photography at night with exposure times that are closer to minutes than seconds, the lumens are too low to get any illumination past 5 feet. This is a question you probably wouldn't ask.

Is it possible to simply turn on and off the red light without having to go through all of the other colors?

Yes, you can, Sara! br> To turn on the red light, press and hold the on/off button for one minute. 5 s : To turn it off, however, you'll have to cycle through the three red light settings. Is it possible for me to go scuba diving with it? If that's the case, how far down?

Greetings, Trevor.br>I appreciate your inquiry. You won't be able to take it diving, unfortunately. Selected User Reviews For Foxelli LED Headlamp Flashlight - for Adults & Kids, Running, Camping, Hiking Head Lamp with White & Red Light, Lightweight Waterproof Headlight with Comfortable Headband, 3 AAA Batteries Included

Foxelli is the best value and best quality in a Four Headlamp Shootout
5/5

I recently compared four LED headlamps that were all highly rated on Amazon and came in a variety of price ranges. I'm going to use these to do some work around the house in the dark, so red or green lights, flashing options, and other features aren't important to me. I'm mostly looking for a nice bright white light to run wires, work in the ceiling, or even plug things in behind a computer that you don't want to move. br>br>Headlamp 1 was $12, and it was called the "Shining Buddy" LED Headlamp. There were 97 people in the room, and only four people were present. From 2509 reviews, this product has received an average rating of 8 out of 10 stars. The physical quality appeared to be fine, but the "Shining Buddy" had a dim LED from the moment I turned it on, even on the highest settings, and it had a very blue tint (a very cool LED color). It was dim enough that I couldn't use it for most tasks, and the color was distracting. It was only used for a short time. br>br>Headlamp 2 is the Foxelli Headlamp, which costs the same ($12). 97) received positive feedback as well - 1082 reviews yielded a rating of 7 out of 10. The Foxelli, on the other hand, was a rock star! It was much brighter, and the light was very clean and white. It performed well in comparison to the two other lamps I reviewed, which were 2x and 3x the price, and it has dimmable lights, flashing lights, and a red color, as do most. The only quibble is that in order to turn off, one must go through all of the settings. Before turning off, the last setting is a VERY bright flashing mode. Wow. Fascinating! However, having to cycle through each time is inconvenient. This would be my go-to go-to go-to go-to go-to go-to go-to go-to go-to go- In the future, I'd like to work with light. Excellent value for money, with a bright white light that is of good quality. br>br>Headlamp 3 was $25, and it was the Black Diamond Spot Headlamp. 99 as well as 4 From 352 reviews, it received a score of 6 out of 10. It's a fantastic performer with a high quality appearance. It's a little brighter than the Foxelli, and the light is a little more uniform. It also has a light setting that is moderately bright but uniformly distributed across a large area. This is a great feature that I didn't have on an older Black Diamond light, and I really like it. Although I mostly use the bright spot setting, I can see it being useful in a close-up situation or for finding things in the dark because it illuminates gently but evenly. It has a nice closure mechanism (a little nicer than the Foxelli), and it appears to be durable. The Tap- For- Extra- The bright option is also very appealing. There are more settings (red, flashing, etc. ) and the method for accessing them is a little complicated, but it means you can (mostly) get to the setting you want and keep it without cycling through unwanted settings. Great lamp, and definitely nicer than the Foxelli, but the Foxelli is good enough for work and half the price, so buy two and have one on hand when the other isn't available. If you're planning on camping or hiking, the Black Diamond Spot might be a better fit, and it's still a good deal. Headlamp 4 was the Black Diamond Storm Headlamp, which retailed for $31. With 4, the score is 93. There are 186 reviews with a rating of 5 stars. This is a high-end headlight. The fit and finish were comparable to the BD Spot, but with a much better cam lock closure and better battery compartment gasket sealing. This lamp outshines the BD Storm, which outshines the Foxelli. Then you had the option of using Power Tap, which was extremely bright. It also has the same wide-angle, gentle uniform light setting as the BD Spot, which I really liked. When you combine green with the red and flashing options, you get a complex control system (all controlled by a single button), but one that comes with a helpful guide and quick reference card to help you out. This is the nicest of the four headlamps, but only slightly nicer than the BD Spot, which comes at a higher price. This light uses four batteries, which is convenient because you never know what you'll do with the extra one from your charger. br>br>Three of these lights, in total, were fantastic. I'd buy the Foxelli again in a heartbeat because it comes with batteries, but I use Eneloop rechargables in mine because they go through batteries quickly when you keep them on bright all the time. The BD Spot is also a great light for my needs, with the higher quality and wider angle setting making the extra cost worthwhile. The extra features of the BD Storm turned out to be unnecessary for me. However, a camper or hiker might find them extremely useful!.

I've been observing for over a year and would like to share what I've learned
3/5

I've had this light for over a year and would like to share what I've learned. Advantages: br>br> It's comfortable to wear, light in weight, bright, and the controls are simple to understand and use. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. A small amount of spill (the light's outer edge) hits your eyes, but it only affects distant vision. Wearing a hat will easily solve the problem. br>This is the most important one. This device has a phantom current drain, which means that if the batteries are left in it, they will eventually die. br>I've tried rechargeable batteries from Duracell, Energizer, Rayovac, Radio Shack, and Tenergy. The first three are approximately 30-minutes long. 35 days without using the headlamp except to test the batteries once a week by turning it on for approximately 5 seconds. The radio shack brand and rechargeable batteries have a 15-year life span. For 20 days, the same conditions were applied. br>br>I have two of these headlamps, and they both have the same problem with phantom current drain. I bought these headlamps with the intention of using them in an emergency if we lose power due to a severe storm.

One Should Be in Every House! This item turned out to be far more valuable than I had anticipated
5/5

I bought the Foxelli headlamp as a Christmas present for my son. I thought this would be a great gift for him as he plans an extreme adventure in 2018. I had no idea it would turn out to be such a lifesaver for me. We live in the state of California, specifically in the state of Los Angeles. The San Diego Sheriff's Department issued a mandatory evacuation order on Thursday evening. One of the wildfires was headed straight for our house. We were frantically packing essentials when the power went out. We lit a couple candles (not exactly what one wants to do during a wildfire) and tried to continue packing despite the fact that it was already night. Then it occurred to me that there was a package under the Christmas tree for my son. I located the small package and handed it to him with the help of a flashlight. It was the ideal (if a little early) present. (For those who are curious- "What was the point of the candles if they had flashlights?" "Try packing with a flashlight in your hand. ) As we prepared to leave our house, this headlamp proved to be the most useful tool we had. Fortunately, there is a happy ending to this story. The mandatory evacuation order for our area was lifted on Sunday. When we returned home, we discovered that our house had been completely spared from the fire (thank you to all the firefighters who worked tirelessly to save so many structures!). In a time of crisis, this headlamp made all the difference!.

This headlamp is one of my favorites
5/5

This headlamp is one of my favorites. One of the best purchases I made this year. br>br>At first, I was skeptical that this product would last or function as advertised, given the low price. So far, it's been fantastic, allowing me to run in low light while avoiding pavement cracks and other hazards. I prefer to run in the daylight, but this is simply not possible during the winter months. br>br>It sits comfortably on the head without being too tight or constricting. With three different angles to choose from, you can focus the light as far ahead as you want. Of course, your speed and terrain will influence this. br>br>Two minor criticisms: the lamp's plastic portion that rests against the head is not padded, making it uncomfortable to wear on the forehead. The lack of an additional strap or clip to keep the current width adjustment in place is the second minor complaint. This means that the setting is lost every time it is removed from your head. You'll need to fiddle with the straps and adjust it again before putting it back on your head. Perhaps these minor issues do not exist at a higher price point.

Although the hinge is very bright, it is also very weak
3/5

The high lumen and fit were great, but there were two small plastic tabs that held the light to the headband and created a swivel point that broke way too soon. Plastic is flimsy and short-lived. I have another older, low-cost light that I've had for about ten years and paid around ten dollars for. It will set you back $0. 00. br>There will never be a flaw or a failure. Just a little less dazzling.
