Except for one unfixable design flaw, everything about this headlamp is fantastic: It casts a ray of light into your eyes. The bottom of the actual lamp is clear plastic, which "carries" the glow right into your eyes, effectively blinding you and negating the flashlight's benefit. br>br>It's cheap enough that you could just tape over the annoying part of the light lens, but I recommend you look for something else.

It produces a lot of light and is pleasant to use, but turning it off and on is a real pain. You can get a nice bright light by pressing the button, which turns soft red. When you press the button once more, soft light appears. When you press the button down again, a bright light appears. Hold on for a moment longer. The light becomes brighter and softer as it progresses. There's also a fourth option for soft lighting. The instructions, in their current form, claim seven modes. I was expecting to be able to select the desired mode and then simply toggle it on and off. br>br>The on/off switch is positioned at an awkward angle. All of this button pressing and button holding is awkward and difficult because you must simultaneously press down toward the ground and in toward your forehead.

This headlamp is quite impressive. I've owned a lot of them, and I've found that the more powerful the headlamp is, the bigger it is. In fact, I walk my dogs every night with a headlamp that has a powerful lamp but a heavy battery pack on the back of the headband with two large 18650 batteries. In the past, I didn't want to give up brightness for size because I valued functionality over comfort, but that is no longer the case. br>br>This Energizer headlamp is both portable and powerful. I barely notice it on my head, thanks to the fact that it only requires three AAA batteries. There are seven different light modes to choose from, including a nighttime red light, a focused beam, and a more dispersed light. The fact that you can dim each light mode from bright to dim by simply holding the button down is incredible technology for something so inexpensive. For this one, I'm confident it's time to "retire" my other bright, heavy, and uncomfortable headlamps!.

This review is for both the forest green and red versions of this headlamp, as well as the standard version with the brighter green headband that isn't sold on this page; they're all the same lamp. br>br>I've owned a few different headlamps and tried out others that my friends have, but this is still my camping recommendation. One major flaw is that it shines light directly into your eyes! br>br>However, a little electrical tape on the bottom can be used to fix this. br>br>Fortunately, that is the only flaw I have with this head lamp. Aside from that, it fulfills all of my criteria for a camping headlamp. On the highest setting, it's quite bright, and it also has a nice medium brightness setting with a wide angle. It also has a red led setting, which I find extremely useful when camping with other people. It's bright enough to walk in, but not bright enough to impair your night vision. Nobody wants to be sitting in the dark with a beer and a fire, only to have you walk by with a car headlight attached to your dome, causing them to see purple spots for the next ten minutes. br>br>It also remembers your last setting, which is a must-have feature in my opinion. There's no need to go through the motions of trying to get it back to where you left it. It also lacks a pointless SOS mode in which the campsite has been transformed into a rave party. It's comfortable to wear for long periods of time, to the point where I sometimes forget I'm wearing it, but it's also very secure on your head. The battery life is good; I can usually go almost an entire camping season before the lights become too dim and I need to replace the batteries.

It's ideal for reading, fiddling with electronics, and needlepoint at night (as well as simply walking around the house without turning on and off multiple lights!). I like that it's water resistant, but I haven't put it to the test yet. I like how the brightness can be adjusted, and the tilt feature is fantastic. However, it hurts after 45 minutes. I covered the band section against my forehead under the light box with moleskin, which helped a lot. But it still hurts so much that I had to stop using it after about two hours; I'm confident that I can come up with a homemade solution that will look ridiculous but work without costing me any more money. So what if I'm living alone?.

The Energizer Forest Green LED Headlamp was one of the items I purchased. I must say, I'm completely enamored with it! To wear the lamp on your head, you must first attach the strap to the lamp, but this is a simple process. It also includes the three AAA Energizer batteries that are required to operate it. There are four different light settings (one red, three white). It's simple to find the ideal setting for your requirements. When I need to reset a fuse in my basement, I use it. There is no light at all in the corner where the fuse box is located. As a result, this headlamp is ideal for the job. I keep it hung on a hook behind my basement door by its strap. It's a lot easier to get your hands on this than it is to get a flashlight. I've also used it to read in bed without waking up my husband or getting out of bed to turn off the bedroom light (I don't have a bedside lamp).

I needed to work on my car, and I was fumbling around with a drop-in replacement. when my 5-year-old son comes home from school This was brought to my attention by my 12-year-old grandson. It was easy to put on and take off. I'll remember to use it the next time I need a concentrated light source. I'll also keep in mind that he's an excellent hand-to-hand combatant. wrench- when- you're- under- the- automobile Assistant )br>I'm not sure how I'd handle the flashing red light option. But you never know when a flashing red light on your head will come in handy! D The only reason for four stars for "brightness" and "night vision" is that it will obviously not provide as much light as a 120 volt work light. However, this device is intended to provide light when you're working on a small task. I now have three of them. I suppose I could put them all on and light up the garage.
