Is it possible to cut the 3/4" end to fit a 1-inch screw? What about a 1/4" hose and a clamp?

No, simply secure it with a clamp. It was advised that I not cut it. It's all good.

What is the best way to install it and where should it be placed?

Drop-in service at a reasonable price I've had this Wayne cover pump for about 5 years, which is far longer than any other pump I've ever had

I believe I went through three pumps in four years at one point. Needless to say, this is one I'd like to keep. A piece of debris (I believe it was mulch) got lodged in the flapper a few years ago, causing it to become stuck halfway open. The entire assembly froze and broke apart, so I just glued what I could back together (basically the check valve without the flapper) as an emergency repair. I completely forgot about this repair until about a week ago, when I was trying to figure out why the pump was running nonstop. stop. Duh.

This part broke on my three-year-old pump, which I use on my pool cover, which is exposed to the elements and the sun for the majority of the year

This part is exactly what I needed. Also, before it broke, the older part's internal flap no longer sealed properly, allowing water to leak back in and causing the pump to cycle on and off frequently. That problem was also solved by the new part.

The original part lasted 4 or 5 winters, so this is a good replacement

Pump is fantastic in and of itself. During a cold spell, this plastic valve may have cracked as a result of me removing the pump from the pool cover with a hose. This valve is inexpensive and pumps water more quickly than the one it replaced.

It was a perfect match

This winter, I made the mistake of pulling on a frozen hose, breaking the check valve connection to the Wayne pump. I taped it back on, but it fell off the next day. I discovered this part on Amazon and placed an order for it. I tightened it up, and my pump was back to normal in no time. Lesson learned: DO NOT PULL YOUR WAYNE PUMP BY THE HOSE OR THE CHECK VALVE CONNECTOR WILL BE BROKEN.

Isn't a proper fit for Wayne's pump! The threads are incorrect, and the garment does not fit properly

The check valve inside has to be hanging down where the valve says "top," but if you screw it all the way up so that it doesn't leak, the valve will be lying on its side and will not work. It's most likely a bad mold; I bought another to be sure, and it's also bad. I'm afraid I won't be able to return the first one for a refund because I waited too long and didn't need it throughout the summer.
