Although of high quality, this pump does not fit the VIP50

This cord is well-made, but it does not fit my Wayne VIP50 pump, which has been around for several years. The part of the cord that plugs into the pump has a longer "shoulder" than the shoulder on my VIP50's original cord. Because that part of the plug protrudes from the pump casing, it does not create a watertight seal when used as a replacement for the original VIP50 cord. I believe that energizing this cord and dropping it into a pond or stock tank under those conditions would put the user in grave danger. br>I wish this cord fit my pump; it worked perfectly for years until a fox chewed the original cord, rendering it unsafe (thankfully, it tripped the GFCI circuit breaker when I put it in the pond bio-filter). I didn't realize the cord was broken until I started filtering). When it comes to electricity and water, make sure the cord fits properly. This would have been a great replacement cord if it had fit, and I would highly recommend it for any pump that it does fit.

My Wayne pump is now working correctly

Years ago, I had a Wayne pump that, when submerged in water, would trip the breaker. (It's probably because I've been carrying or tossing it by the cord for years - That's exactly what you shouldn't do! ) However, the new cord functions properly, and I am back in business. (And tossing it around by the cord - Perhaps I should have placed two orders!.

There was nothing I didn't like about this product except the fact that the C/S rep claimed there were no cords available. Dummy! One was available on Amazon, and it was delivered promptly.
