Questions & Answers

For the flojet 2055, you'll need batteries. 502 If the charger is connected, the device will run but not charge the battery. I'm looking for a place to buy batteries. ?

The wall-mounted box serves as a power supply rather than a charger. The pump unit doesn't have any charging circuitry. The power supply's nameplate states that it can deliver 12 volts DC and 1200 milliamperes (1. The positive terminal is the outer shell of the plug (which goes into the pump unit), and the negative terminal is the outer shell of the plug (which goes into the pump unit). br>br>I'm assuming you want to use the FloJet on battery power, most likely in an area where there isn't an outlet. With those specs, a 12 volt car battery or something similar should be able to power the FloJet. It would require some tinkering and, for all I know, could void the warranty, but it should work. You'll need a way to connect to the battery, and a fused plug (formerly known as a cigarette lighter plug) will suffice. I've seen a lot of them, and the majority of them are fused. The fuse can be accessed by unscrewing the tip. There are other ways to connect to the battery; just make sure there's a fuse with a high enough rating in there. In any case, double-check the polarity and use a plug similar to the one used in the FloJet's power receptacle. You could use that one off the FloJet power supply if you never need to use it with an outlet again, but I'd get a new one. It's the sort of thing I used to get from Radio Shack, but if you don't have access to a local electronics parts store, mail order might be the way to go these days. If you can't try them on in the store, it's difficult to get the exact size you need. Also, if you get a new plug, you'll need to solder the wires to the terminals inside, and not everyone has a soldering iron, etc. You'll also need to double-check the polarity of the plug, whichever one you use. That should get the FloJet up and running, but you'll still need something to keep the battery charged when it runs out. If it's a car battery, the vehicle will, of course, have an alternator and charging circuitry. The same goes for a boat or RV; just make sure you're getting 12 volts (not 24 volts or anything else). You'd have to charge a 12 volt battery on a regular basis if you only used it as a backup. A car battery that can only power a FloJet (drawing less than 1. 2 Amps when running) should last a long time between charges, and the battery would most likely be depleted as much from self-discharge. When you use the FloJet, you get a discharge. br>br>Unfortunately, this device was not designed to run on batteries, but with a little hacking, it could be made to work.

Is it possible to connect this to a 12v flojet water pump?

Yes, if it's a BW5000 pump. It will not fit the BW4000 series or earlier models.

It does exactly what it says
4/5

In fact, it was used with a different pump. It does exactly what it says. Originally, it was used with a different pump, but the input had to be turned off. When you cut off the primary intake for use with another pump, a wire inside the hose detects when the water level is low, but it isn't usable.

Excellent Substitute
5/5

We had grown reliant on this device; one of the suction wands was broken at the bottom, but it still worked; however, the top of the same wand was also broken, resulting in no suction. We were able to replace it and are now back in operation!.
