I've experimented with a variety of shower diverters. The majority of them have a small or poorly designed water channel, which has an impact on the gpm flow. If you're using a shower head or device with a very low flow rate (e. g. 5 to 1. You'd probably never notice at number 8, but at number 2, you might notice a slight reduction. At 2. You'll notice a difference when the flow rate drops below 5 gpm. br>br>I have a 5 gpm shower valve and measured the flow using my water softener readout. br>br>This diverter has a maximum capacity of three. The shower port allows for a 5 gpm flow. br>br>If you need a higher flow, the MINGOR diverter allows for a 4 gpm flow. The shower port allows for a 1 gpm flow. br>www. amazon. com/dp/B07PHRRFL7/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_ZN9S04X4J125R79F8YS1/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_ZN9S04X4J125R79F8YS1.
In one of the bathrooms, we had a basic showerhead that guests used. We added a hand-held shower with a bar and wanted a way to switch between the two if needed. For stainless steel, this was a low-cost option that was simple to install. Only time will tell how well it holds up under pressure, but it appears to be very durable and functional. With the included plumber's tape and a wrench, it was a breeze to put together. To switch between either or both showerheads, the diverter valve works smoothly. br>br>The water flow is noticeably lower when both are running, but that's to be expected when you're running two heads off of one pipe; overall, it performs as well as similar fixtures I've seen for many times the price.
The item arrived in a bubble-wrapped U. S. package. envelope. A thick cardboard box housed the inside envelope diverter valve. The box was in perfect condition and had not been tampered with. The box's quality has left me very impressed. When I opened the box, there was one sealed foam bag containing the valve, a small zip lock bag containing thread tape, and three different gaskets inside. Everything went according to plan during installation. I understand why people complain about the device's short threaded lengths, but I used the thicker of their supplied washers in my shower head, and it screwed on flush with the diverter valve. They almost appear to be made as a single unit. Cool. The shower hose for the handheld shower was securely fastened. This diverter valve's female threaded end screwed easily and snugly onto my piping. I did use several wraps of their supplied teflon tape on all threads, with a few extra wraps around the threads of my piping, as the diverter valve's free spinning female threaded end seemed like it might need a few more layers of tape to ensure a leak-proof connection. It's possible that one wrap would have sufficed. Four, on the other hand, worked perfectly. I have a little bit of flexibility between my piping and the body of the diverter after tightly screwing it on, and the body of the diverter can be turned when I adjust the spray pattern of my shower head. I wish that connection was impenetrable, but it isn't. I'll take this opportunity to point out that the teflon tape that came with the diverter WAS NOT one of those small spools with just enough tape to wrap one layer of tape around one set of pipe threads for one attempt. I have enough teflon tape left over to repair every leaking connection in every house on the block. Distributor's note: You might save some money if you can find those short, small rolls of thread tape, but you sure made me happy when you discovered the larger roll in the diverter box. Now it's time for the show. It's simple and straightforward. There are no detents or clicks to help you tell if it's in one of two positions. It will simply turn smoothly across its entire range of motion. But you're tougher than me if you turn the water on while standing in the shower to begin with. The handle seems to be firmly attached to the device. There was no small allen screw to loosen or remove the handle that I could find. I won't be attempting it anytime soon, and I'm hoping it stays put (as opposed to what another reviewer claimed). I haven't had much time to play with it. Don't you just despise it when that happens? The only other thing that comes to mind is that I should have removed my shower neck pipe and replaced it with a short straight one, then attached the diverter before adding a short angled shower pipe, which lowers my shower head by about 2". But that's just the way things are.
Water pressure reducing valve is a better name for this product! br>It reduced your water pressure; you had to purchase a delta diverter valve, which worked perfectly with no pressure reduction.
I bought it because it's stainless steel and should last a long time. Chromed brass will require maintenance and will deteriorate as a result of that cleaning, even if the water is moderately hard. It works great and is very smooth. br>br> While I was able to make this work, the threads for the handheld shower were misaligned in some way. They didn't appear to be 1/2 pipe, as they should have been. The metal hose ferrel would not go on, but a shower hose with a plastic ferrel threaded on and sealed, though not smoothly. The shower stem pipe and shower head threads were both in good condition.
Did I mention it's prone to leaking? The connection between the shower and the diverter is poor. JUNK. Also, the shower head connection is too short; I filled it with four washers. This unit has 100% aggravation and is complete. You've been given fair warning.
For your shower, this is an excellent diverter. It allows you to divert the stream to either showerhead or. . . to split the difference and have both showerheads stream water at the same time. The weight of this product surprised me, and it was clear that not only does it have a lovely satin silver finish that complements my bathroom perfectly, but it is also heavy duty and will last for many years. It'll probably last the rest of my life, so it's a definite thumbs up!.
This is a well-made and sturdy item. There's nothing but metal here. The flow is not limited by any inset restrictors. I was concerned that the holes were too small to allow adequate flow when I first installed it, but I've had strong showers with no problems, and each position (shower head, arm, and both) works perfectly, and installation was very simple.
