This isn't a PEX mixer, so don't waste your money on it. This is a rip-off. Don't buy it. The hot and cold lines are PEX, but the shower up and tub down will be copper. Stupid! I was looking for a f-ing f-ing f-ing f- PEX mixer is a device that allows you to mix PEX with other liquids. PEX is all over the place. There isn't any PEX in this. POS.
Due to the poor reviews of the stock valve included in the Banbury kit from Home Depot, I decided to upgrade to this Moen model. I figured I'd spend the extra money for extra comfort, but after installation, this valve does not completely shut off the water and leaks through the shower head. Because it's soldered in place, I won't be able to return it. As a result, I contacted Moen customer service, who informed me that they would contact me within a week. I was a bit let down.
As a water temperature mixing valve, this valve performs admirably. We've had it for a year and haven't had any issues, but I wouldn't expect to. The Moen Voss valve handle that we chose dictated this valve. They complement each other perfectly.
I didn't want to take chances with a valve, so I paid the full price for this morning valve. Nonetheless, it is brand new and has been installed by a contractor. After the first day, the shower head began to leak slowly. The bathroom is dripping all night because I don't have a door. I'm getting "the look" from my wife. I have no idea how to stop the drip. It's completely fresh! Do you have any suggestions?.
When I took the valve apart to solder it for installation, I discovered that one of the valve seals had been installed incorrectly by the manufacturer and had ripped. I'm now on the hook for the cost of a new seal kit.
Because the PosiTemp works so well, I no longer get frozen or scalded when someone else starts their shower or starts the dishwasher.
It was a breeze to install the valve. The tub feed had to be shut off and the shower head had to be tied in. To avoid overheating, I also separated the valves. The copper and brass were cleaned and the flow was perfect. I like how you can set the valve for rockwall or tile with the deep and shallow gauge.
It accomplishes the task at hand. I'm quite pleased with it so far.
