Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
ONE-PIECE BRASS BODY: Compared to plastic bodies, one-piece brass bodies provide significantly better performance (high heat and pressure resistance) and durability. It has a long lifespan and does not leak.
EASY TO USE: The advanced ceramic disc cartridge has a long service life (over 200,000 operation cycles) and is light and smooth to operate. Even with wet and slick hands, the long lever handle is simple to operate.
WATER FLOW CONTROLLER: This valve can be used as a shut-off or a water-saving valve.
BRUSHED BRASS FINISH: Matte brushed brass finish with a combination of clean, refined lines for a high-end style, rather than a mirror-like shining finish or a champagne gold finish.
1 X G 1/2 female inlet, 1 X G 1/2 male outlet, standard straight thread connections, washer included, UNIVERSAL CONNECTION

Questions & Answers

When the valve is completely open, does it reduce the flow of water to the shower head?

This reduced water flow by 50%, according to my calculations. Because the valve design mechanism consumes at least 50% of the volume on the inside (where the water flows thru), it makes sense that it would restrict flow by 50%- even when the doors are wide open

Is it true that it leaks from the handle, as many other reviews claim? Is there a leak, and how bad is it?

Ours is installed at the wall's end of the pipe, then the shower hose and handle are attached. We haven't had any leaks since installing our connection. Everything is in order. Two other kinds have blown out, soaking our walls and ceiling. This is not the case!

Is this a trickle valve or a 100% shutoff ?

I don t use it that way because it is completely shut off. I just leave it alone once I've got it set up the way I want it. The issue I had was that the water pressure was difficult to regulate with the single handle valve, so this gadget solved the issue.

Is the flow-adjustment tab made of metal or chrome, or is it made of plastic?

Metal on the outside, plastic on the inside of the water regulator Valve is excellent.

It's a great idea, but don't go crazy with it

tighten. I got a new showerhead, and the flow limiter inside didn't work with the water pressure in my house (the shower head was whining and sputtering), so I took it out. The resultant water pressure was extremely high, which was pleasant but wasteful of water and dangerous to children and dogs. br>br>I ordered this, which allows me to adjust the flow and turn it off when I'm shampooing my dogs. br>br>Leakage is mentioned in a few of the negative reviews. I found that using a moderate amount of teflon tape (not included) and not overtightening was the key. If you overtighten the screw, the rubber washer will be forced into the male end of whatever you're screwing in, rendering it useless. There's no need for a wrench or a strong grip. Simply hand-tighten until the washer is securely in place. br>br>I placed it between the shower pipe and the hose for my shower head attachment the first time I installed it. It worked fine, but the plumbers must have been giants because the shower head pipe is difficult to reach for this average-sized person. woman of average height. Then it occurred to me that I could place it between the hose and the showerhead itself, making it far more accessible.

This is a genuine SHUT-DOWN situation
5/5

The valve is turned off. THIS VALVE PERFORMS EXACTLY AS IT SHOULD! The slide mechanism is also more user-friendly than the push-button mechanisms. It lets you control the flow of water from FULL ON to FULL OFF. br>br>BEFORE BUYING THIS REAL SHUTTLE, WE PAID EXTRA AND GOT THE ONE WITH THE METAL SLIDE INSTEAD OF THE LESS EXPENSIVE PLASTIC SLIDE. br>br>BEFORE BUYING THIS REAL SHUTTLE, WE PAID EXTRA AND GOT THE ONE WITH THE METAL SLIDE INSTEAD OF THE LESS EXPENSIVE PLASTIC We tried three from Home Depot for $5 each, assuming they were defective, and one from Lowes for $10, which also dribbled. So I did some research and discovered that they are now designed to dribble ON PURPOSE in order for the showering person to remember to turn off the actual faucet. br>br>Well, we're in a remote cabin with a limited supply of water, and we don't want to dribble! We want to have control over when and how things are turned on and off! br>br>And when I say dribble, I mean a LOT of dribble from the other valves, forming a small stream. br>br>This valve is for people who want to completely shut it off or decide whether or not they want a dribble!.

Since sliced bread, this is the best thing that has happened to me
5/5

I wish I'd bought it 20 years ago. This valve does not restrict the flow of water unless you tell it to. Its purpose is to provide an easy and quick way to reduce or completely turn off the water while in the shower, allowing you to lather your hair, shave your legs, and so on without wasting a lot of water. It's incredibly easy to set up and use, and it performs flawlessly. The valve's lever is easy to operate and smooth. While in the shower, you can reduce the water volume slightly, significantly (or anywhere in between), or completely turn it off. I enjoy not wasting as much water as I used to. I use mine with a shower wand/massager, and it will save me far more than the cost of this item in a very short period of time. This is one of the most valuable purchases I've ever made.

To stop a leak on a bidet, this device was installed
5/5

So far, everything is running smoothly. Jan 2020: A bidet sprayer was installed. The design of bidets is so poor - Because sprayers are never strong enough to withstand high water pressure, manufacturers always advise using the shutoff valve before and after each use. However, the bidet sprayer shut-off valve is always under the toilet, behind the toilet! Who wants to have to reach down there every time they use it? At the sprayer's end, I installed a shut-off valve - between the hose and the sprayer, and between the hose and the sprayer itself It's been working great so far in preventing the inevitable leak from the bidet that appeared a few weeks after installation due to the shut off valve under the toilet not being used. Because this is a bidet application, the fact that it is a flow reducing valve is irrelevant. It's only been in for a day, so we'll keep you updated if it begins to leak. br>It detracts from the bidet sprayer's clean appearance, but it's better than having a bucket on the floor or reaching under the toilet! I wish it had a more contemporary look to it. Photos from the beginning to the end have been uploaded.

Depending on the showerhead, it works great
4/5

What you might not consider, and what I did not consider, is the shower head that comes with it. After sitting and thinking about it for a while, I was able to make the one I got work, but most pivots are difficult to set up. They usually have a piece that must be pushed into the pipe, followed by a fitting, and finally the rest of the shower head. With the giant tab lever in the way, this is a little more difficult. br>br>I'm not sure if this is a good solution, but it's more of a cautionary note. With some of the automotive tools I have, we were able to thread mine on, but your average person may find this to be a frustrating problem that they can't solve with such basic tools. br>br>Apart from that, the device is excellent. So, with a cheap basic shower head, it'd be a 5 star, but with a nicer shower head, it'd be a 4 star due to the difficulty of installation. Everything else is in order.

High- a high-quality, smooth closure off, but the threads are parallel "G" style rather than tapered "NPT" style
5/5

This valve is of excellent quality, especially considering the low price, but the threads are my only complaint. Plumbing fittings are typically NPT (tapered) in shape (at least in the United States). This shut-off's thread pitch is It is NOT tapered, but rather a parallel or un-tapered version of standard 1/2" NPT fittings. The "G" thread is tapered and designed to be used with o-rings. rings (as shown in one of the product images). I was going to take a star off for this, but after reading the description, it clearly states that it is a "G 1/2" thread, so it was my fault. If the pipe to which you're connecting this has a suitable wall thickness for an o-ring, you're good to go. You should have no trouble finding a ring to sit against the face of. However, my application involved a thin-walled shower head neck, which resulted in the o- Instead of sitting against the face, the ring is pushed up into the pipe. By using a lot of PTFE tape, I was able to virtually eliminate my leak, but a tapered thread would have been much better.
