Yes. It is critical that you adhere to the Delta instructions. The diverter has four openings; make sure you cap the right one or it won't work.
It's important to remember that this is a DIVERTER. It's not a THERMOSTATIC valve, to begin with. Temperature and "on/off" will be controlled by your thermostatic valve. br>There is one IN port and three OUT ports on the diverter. You'll get an OFF if you CAP any of the OUT ports. It all depends on how you go about plumbing it. You can have an OFF if you only use two outputs, like we do (2 shower heads). If all three outputs are used, there will be no off in this valve, and you'll have to use the thermostatic valve or a separate volume valve.
It's only required if you have more than one shower head (for example: 2 shower heads, 1 shower wand, shower head jets, shower wand jets, and so on.) These are fantastic. br> I placed the diverter near the entrance for our second bath so that I could keep the thermostatic valve set to Hot all of the time and turn on the shower (head 1, head 2, or both) without getting wet until things warmed up. If you only use two heads, as we do, it also functions as an off switch - So, if you're going to buy a controller, get the 6 instead of the 3.
Note: Chrome trim kits are significantly less expensive than the other options. So, if you want oil rubbed bronze, you can spray your trim kits with really cool metallic paint for only $7 and save a lot of money (like $125-$150). 150) vs. Investing in the more costly trim kits.
Yes, that valve functions as a diverter, sending mixed hot and cold water to your shower head and hand held separately. Your hot and cold water supply lines must first be connected to a mixing valve (such as the delta R10000 UNBXHF), then to a diverter (only if you're using a shower head AND a hand held). It's important to remember that the mixing valve I mentioned is only for a shower head. There is a cap on the tub outlet. If you have a tub spout, you'll need a different valve (delta R10000 UNBX).

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR SPEND YOUR MONEY ON IT! Please look at the pictures to see why you should not buy this brand or product. I contacted Delta after items began to fade in color and the shower head began to leak water. They would not abide by their own rules. The customer service representatives are rude, and management is unhelpful to say the least; they don't even honor their own warranty, and Amazon refers you to them because the item is covered by it. There are far too many other excellent companies to get anything from this one. They attempted to place blame on the homeowner and cleaning supplies. Because of my son's allergies, I only purchase organic products.
It's simple to install for a plumber, but if you're looking for a Diverter Rough-In, it's a little more complicated. You most likely know what you're doing if you've gotten this far. If that's the case, this should be fine; after all, Delta makes excellent products.

To use the R11000 valve for the shower head and hand shower, all of the literature stated that you must plug it into the correct port, and most photos even show you how to do so. So, instead of a knockoff, I ordered a Delta faucet! The plug, on the other hand, was absent. I'm so dissatisfied that I'm considering returning unless I can get a plug sent to me. Thanks.
This Delta R11000 3/6 Setting Diverter Rough has been a pleasure to order. We are very pleased to have chosen the right product after two weeks of testing it in our shower.
The Delta R10000 High Flow Shower Valve was used to complete the installation. For me, I used a 6-way Linden trim, with the left side going to the tub spigot, the top going to the shower head, and the right side going to the hand shower. br>br>Both of these were done with the Linden trim. On all settings, there is a lot of pressure.
This is fantastic. It was simple to connect, and the spacing is excellent - I had a regular wall with the depth of a 2x4, so I put a 2x4 on the back wall flat (4 inches up, 2 inches deep) and screwed it into the board, which gave me the perfect depth for my shower. br>br>I like that I can change out my trim without having to change any of the internal components.
