I've used a few different drill attachment cutters in the past and had researched many before purchasing, and I have to say that I love these cutters, they've cut right through many wire fence and sheet metal, I haven't used them on anything else yet, and all of my tools are 18V Ryobi, I searched Home Depot for weeks for this to come back in stock with no luck, so I came here and found it, I've only had it a few weeks now and will update in a few Once again, Amazon, thank you. AAA+++ ! These Ryobi Shears come highly recommended by me:.
So I spent sixty dollars on a used milwaukee metal shears, fifty-seven dollars on a dewalt metal nibbler for impacts, seventy dollars on a bauer metal shears, and a hundred and four dollars on the ryobi shears last week. I had reached the end of my rope. Now, listen to what I'm going to tell you. NONE OF THESE CAN EASILY NAVIGATE THE ONE AND A HALF INCHES DEEP RIBS OF THIS POLE BARN METAL. But, having said that. . . THE RYOBI IS THE BEST CUTTER FOR THIS TYPE OF MATERIAL BY FAR. It's far from simple. But it's a million times better than tin snips and a thousand times better than the other three nibblers. I'm glad I was able to obtain it!.
Straight cuts were no problem, but cutting across standard R style roofing panels proved impossible due to the sheet's inability to traverse past the first vertical corrugations. I will return because it is not what I was looking for. If all you want to do is cut flat or old-style barnyard corrugated roofing, you should be fine.
It's medium duty and extremely affordable, just like most Ryobi tools. br>I am a proud owner of the majority of Ryobi One tools, and I appreciate the brand's consistency.
EXTREMELY good and precise cutting tool; well worth the money I paid for it.
It'll serve the purpose for which I purchased it - shingles must be trimmed Edit: I've been cutting shingles and felt underlayment with this tool. The underlayment is easily cut, but the blades may become clogged with tar. It cuts shingles reasonably well, but cutting tabs is more difficult. I've also used it to cut down cardboard, which it handled with ease.
It's a LOT easier to use than snips for cutting 18 gauge sheet roofing! The only drawback is that it's extremely sensitive to angles when cutting, but once you get that down, it's a breeze.
It's unreal how good this thing cuts. The only time I'm concerned is when the blade becomes dull. Do you go out and get a new one?.
