to cut 29 gauge steel roof metal with an 18 volt drill, and the power of the drill didn't even come close to being challenged by the power of this tool. As a result, I think a 12 volt drill would be just fine for what you describe.

The idea of using our former pole barn siding to make vegetable planter boxes is very intriguing to me. The siding on the barn had to be cut with steel tin snips or a grinding disc, as steel is not a material I could use to cut. My best deal was found through this vendor. The Malco Turbo Shear has high ratings and is available at a price I could afford. As soon as I drew my lines on the siding with the shear, I went at it. I will confess that the siding on a pole barn has humps, and that if you don't lift the siding, it will be more difficult to cut. cannot lay it flat and think that you will be able to zip right through went over the humps on grass, but I did have to lift the siding as I went over them. Historically, this tool has been used for everything steel, especially when it is big enough so that it can cut through just about anything. It has the sharpness to stand up to my Ryobi 18v set and keep going, but works with almost any battery operated drill. I saw one before and used it when I did metal roofing, but this Malco has the sharpness to keep up. As far as I'm aware, I have never found a drill of that type that could not be fitted due to the extended range. Despite getting the replacement blades, I do not anticipate having to use them for another year or two. 5 out of 5 stars and two thumbs up. 18 ga. and 16 ga. are both cut well using the cutting power of this machine.
