Yes, it can cut 18ga, that is what I primarily cut, so no adjustments are necessary.
We should do this because it is worth the effort. I like this thing a lot
You will be able to cut it efficiently if you follow the cut all the way through. You will have to cut the spiral tale off with snipps or side cutters if not, and this is just another step you have to take before finishing the job.

It cuts 26 ga in a straight line with no issues. I have a hard time with 24GA. If you can't get a perfect radius, don't waste your time. The 300 dollars was not worth it. The amount is 00 dollars. Honestly, a makita guy find it a little puzzling that harbor freight can sell a shear for 50 bucks that is bulletproof. You just change the blades for the malco ones and it works just fine. It would be great if makita offered heavy gauged shears and cordless models as well. Maybe Milwaukee is the perfect place for you. It does appear that they are ahead of the curve on developing cordless tools since they have a more extensive range.
A pole barn is being built with steel siding, so I bought this tool to cut it. These two tools are fantastic, both on their own and together. It is possible to use either of them. There is no chance of them piercing over the ribs since this cutter does a good straight cut without dropping small, half moon sized particles all over you. When you have tight turns or need to go over a profile, you need a nibbler. Because it is made in Japan, it is one of their top products.
As always, this product is excellent. My stainless steel sheets that I bought this product for cut easily through this product. A 16ga mild steel can also be cut by it It is a simple tool to use with little vibration and easy to handle. Even though I bought the tool without battery (no power), it has a run time of about five hours. I did not expect the battery to last for so long. It turns out to be the opposite of what I expected because slicing through metal sheets drastically drains the battery.
My device is happy with what it does.
The tool works well and another excellent tool from Makita.
I like how smooth it cuts.
The price is really good.
I am very impressed with the cordless effect of the product. It works well and is easy to use.
