Makita XBP02Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Portable Band Saw, Tool Only

A Makita tool this is one of the best any company has ever produced. Mostly, I use it to cut EMT, but I find that it is versatile and can be used for practically anything when a smooth, straight and perfect cut is required. This is what I use to do my best work There is no need for a reciprocating saw with this. Moreover, I am pleasantly surprised at how many cuts I can get from it on a single I have a sawzall that eats batteries, then I have this thing. I don't even bother using one of my bigger batteries anymore In general, I just put in a 3Ah battery. Additionally, I’m a big fan of power tools that come with built-in LEDs, so that my work is always well lit. There's nothing to it it's just a mash-up of everything It's a great saw all around. My opinion is that, among the most essential tools to have cordless, a portable bandsaw is among them. If I'm using a corded model, I'm always paranoid about the cord getting too close to the blade underneath while I'm You don't have to worry about cordless models not being used well by someone who is a novice when it comes to their ease of operation and convenience.

A killer saw what he wanted to see. Despite the fact that all of makita LXT's tools impress, this one is no exception. The variable speeds that are offered by this brand are much greater than those of other brands. Trying to cut through 1/4" steel plate, I could not get the motor to stall or even slow down. While the knife's stock blade is razor sharp and as solid as a coffin nail, there is a noticeable "Ka" mark on the blade A chunk of ka- As the welded section passes by, Chuck yells, "You got a chuck in your ear. ". This noise does not affect how the cut is made, however the saw is very loud and therefore quite obnoxious. The brushes are both from the same set. With a large number of gears, it has quite a bit of gearing. Despite the fact that this is a full-sized bandsaw, the weight is astonishingly low compared to other models by DeWalt and This would be interesting if the brushless motor were used this time. However, I have had no complaints with this device up until this point. The exception is! Safety switches can be used to prevent the trigger from being pressed by securing it from being pressed. Added it to my inbox today. I installed the blade and cut some test pieces from hot rolled bar stock that was 3/8 thick. While the unit presented a slight bogging issue (almost stalling) at low speeds, at high speeds it worked just fine. It cuts cleanly and easily. A few observations *1) There needs to be a switch allowing the light to turn on when it turns off. Contains a switch that locks or unlocks the device. 1) received vehicle with a lot of gear box grease on the drive tire. Cleanup was OK, but it was a mess. 3) it would be good if the unit came with a second set of brushes, or if the brush set were upgraded to a brush-type set Less than that. 4) I am not really familiar with the battery life. I have not had time to try it 5) pricey, but it's The next time I purchase, I will do so.

A Makita tool of high quality, just like the majority of Makita products. An Android with a 4" screen has an adequate battery life. The battery has a capacity of 0Ah. In contrast to some reviews, I do not find the weight objectionable, although I wouldn't want to make a bunch of overhead cuts In my first job with it, I had to cut some industrial pallet racking down to size. Here is a picture of the attached file. It took about 10 seconds to make each cut, which left an almost burr-like appearance Sparks are not generated by a cut - Using a torches does not add any heat to the wheels. Our field team needs to cut ridgid pipe of 2 and 3 inches inside and out. We find that this machine reduces the time it takes to chop by 75% and it is much safer than anything else we have tried thus far. Aluminium solar rail is an easy-to-use tool that cuts quickly and easily without requiring a lot of muscle power. As well as cutting fairly accurately, the band saw has high precision. This is the smaller Makita battery (Makita XBP03Z 18V) that we have and it works well. Everyone uses this big one, even though the small one would do the job 90% of the time. The big version is heavier to carry up the ladder, but it gets the job done 100% of the time.

It is shaped in a funky way that limits what it is able to cut, but it cuts mild steel in 1/8, 3/16 and 1/4 inch slices My reason for 4 stars is the unique shape that limits the shapes that can be cut with these blades. I use Makita wax on the blades, and they seem to be holding up well.

The average homeowner/do it yourselfer will probably find several other types of saws before buying this one as it is an extremely specialized tool. Therefore, it is a great tool for cutting a wide variety of narrow and dense materials like piping (metal or PVC), and even for reworking This tool can cut through bar, unistrut, channel, fence posts and more. It has plenty of power and the built-in speed dial gives you plenty of speed options. In my experience, the device's battery life has been more than adequate for the tasks I have been performing with it. Due to the fact that I've only ever cut for short periods with short cuts and have never depleted a battery, I don't know how long the battery lasts or how many cuts I can make. Although you should be able to change the blade without much difficulty, you might wish to pick up a spare blade if your local hardware store does not On Amazon, there are plenty of blades to choose from. There is about only one drawback I can see with this tool, it is heavy. While the weight of the saw indicates the quality of materials used in it, it also makes it difficult to use over long periods of time or in awkward positions like Although I feel that the better build quality using heavier materials is more important than lighter materials.

The LXT line is made up of a number of contractor-oriented products that I own and use regularly yet this saw is bulky and unbalanced. On my first cut with this saw on 3" 11 gauge, I saw a difference. Because of its square tubing, the motor seemed incapable of moving, and had no idea how to reverse. He returned home.
