It is a substantial price tag for this saw, so I was a bit on the fence about getting it. My plan was just to buy the corded Dewalt portaband, because I'm not a contractor and do my own welding and repair work in my own shop, so I don't need to go cordless. I have thus far cut quite a bit of steel with it, but I have not yet managed to destroy a blade. I mean 4"x4" steel when I say steel. The walls are 500" thick, and the stock is heavy. The fact that I would have gone through 4 was also a surprise to me Because of the inconsistent blade speed, we have already changed 5 blades with the HF saw. There is nothing better than a cordless tool that holds the speed exactly where you put it and is as durable as they come! A little pain was felt when I tapped the order button, but it was well.
In the past, I have cut with it. I think this is absolutely amazing. The following are some cuts I have made with it Among the materials used in building are plywood, MDF, pine, oak, walnut, padauk, purple heart, plastics of all kinds, cured carbon fiber A fiber carpet, 1/4" 6061 aluminum plate, aluminum rod, aluminum pipe and pipe fittings, copper pipe, brass valve, 1" steel plate, 1/8" wall steel plate, rod, pipe, square and angle stock, 1/4" wall steel angle, and It cuts almost anything and produces no sparks, so it can be used for pretty much anything. The only thing I want to test it on is a metal framing job because I wish to see how it would handle cutting through a bunch
The blade that comes with it Blades made by a factory are terrible. There are some good ones from Lenox, but the Mk-III is my favorite These Morse 811 are the best that I have ever used, they are fast and they cut through anything This blade is still in the saw after about five charges on the 5ah battery (if you own this saw, you know there is a lot of cutting involved) and doesn't seem to have been damaged at all.
It has been used more in the past two months than any other tool I've used in the shop. It's mounted in a Swag benchtop stand.
A fantastic saw, though I wish the blade description could be more accurate or at least more illuminating. A description of the substitute blade led me to think the wrong one was being used.
The quality of the product is great and it is very sturdy.
A couple of days ago, I even cut two by fours. This book is highly recommended.
Excellent price and an excellent saw.
