Makita cordless bandsaw and got tired of the blade getting out of alignment. As such, I read the reviews and bought this Dewalt. Not too happy with the balance though. It is much more balanced and feels much better than the Makita. The Dewalt trigger has an idiot button that needs to be pressed AT THE SAME TIME. To have to keep track of those two buttons EVERY TIME you want to use it is a pain. It may be possible for me to affix a drywall screw to the safety trigger, but why can't someone at Dewalt do their homework and fix it. A future review will take into consideration my experience using this for all day tasks. Nevertheless, I would like to buy a smoother blade as the one that comes with it has too much vibration, it would be nice to buy a 24 tpi rather than the one that.

Although I have used portable band saws for years, this Dewalt portable is the best I've ever used. Getting this tool is essential if you need to cut conduit or other small jobs, like installing unstrut. Since I have used hack saws for many years, this is definitely an improvement that I wish had been invented I am not involved with the field any more, but I love this tool for around the farm, and it has a 20 volt Dewalt battery. This tool has been sitting in my collection for a few weeks now, but I just finally got a chance to use it. Great tool, makes fast clean cuts in thick materials like EMT and allthread. I have a 5mah battery on the 20V, and it lasts quite a while, though it's a bit heavier than the Milwaukee 12V. I especially appreciate the fact that there is no safety bar that prevents you from making a 1-inch cut. Five eighths of an inch strut. Bringing this handy tool a lot of use will be a real plus. It feels well built. That it's just the right size for a 12v or 18v Milwaukee, but with full power is appealing to me. Dewalt is one of the best brands I've ever had, and the tools are good, yet a little expensive compared to their competitors.
